p>Experience: Five (5) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting including two (2) years of supervisory, fiscal management and computer system applications OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting up to one year of college coursework above the Baccalaureate Degree level for a maximum of one (1) year of the non-supervisory required experience. Specialized experience may include, but is not limited to being an expert of all locations of the medical center and have deep understanding of patient transportation principles, knowledge in identifying readily apparent hazardous conditions, which might impact patient transport and in the various processes required to address and resolve identified conditions, the ability to apply basic infection control/safety management policies and procedures, must be able to identify readily apparent (dramatic) changes in patients tatus and to initiate appropriate action based upon observed changes in patient condition, facilitate arrangements to obtain assistance (such as initiating a Code Blue & Rapid Response Team, trained to identify readily apparent hazardous conditions, which might impact patient transport and in the various processes required to address and resolve identified conditions, Collection of data and analysis of data for performance improvement activities, preparation of reports of contact and reports of patient injuries, assists in conducting inventories of transport equipment and resolves discrepancies identified. The Department of Veterans Affairs performs pre-employment reference checks as an assessment method used in the hiring process to verify information provided by a candidate (e.g., on resume or during interview or hiring process); gain additional knowledge regarding a candidates abilities; and assist a hiring manager with making a final selection for a position.
Prefer experience providing customer service in transportation (or transport), clerical duties, and/or dispatching associated functions. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) CPR acquired before or during new hire orientation.
