The Asphalt Paver Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an asphalt paving machine used to lay asphalt on roads, parking lots, driveways, and other surfaces.

Given our rapid portfolio growth, coupled with ownership's desire to develop and hold rather than sell, the timing is ideal for qualified candidates to come on-board. We are currently seeking a Asphalt Paver Operator to work in our Excavation Department.  Position SummaryThe Asphalt Paver Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an asphalt paving machine used to lay asphalt on roads, parking lots, driveways, and other surfaces. This role requires precision, attention to grade and thickness requirements, and coordination with the paving crew to ensure a smooth and consistent finished product. This position will work out of our South Plainfield, NJ office. 

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Operate an asphalt paver machine to spread and level hot mix asphalt on roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces.</li><li>Control paving machine speed, material flow, and screed settings to ensure proper thickness, width, and grade.</li><li>Coordinate with truck drivers, roller operators, and ground crew to maintain a continuous paving operation.</li><li>Monitor asphalt temperature, material distribution, and surface appearance to ensure quality standards are met.</li><li>Perform daily inspections of the paving machine including fluid levels, hydraulics, tracks, and mechanical components.</li><li>Conduct minor maintenance and adjustments to equipment as needed.</li><li>Follow project specifications, blueprints, and grade stakes to ensure accurate paving alignment and elevation.</li><li>Maintain communication with the Foreman regarding job progress, site conditions, and equipment issues.</li><li>Keep equipment clean and properly maintained at the end of each shift.</li><li>Assist other crew members with site preparation and cleanup when required.</li></ul>Safety Responsibilities<ul><li>Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.</li><li>Wear required PPE including hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe boots, gloves, and eye protection.</li><li>Maintain safe distances from other equipment and personnel during paving operations.</li><li>Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment malfunctions.</li><li>Ensure proper traffic control measures are in place when working near roadways.</li></ul>

The Foreman must be skilled in running paving equipment, heavy machinery, and overseeing day-to-day crew operations. This position will work out of our South Plainfield, NJ office.

To qualify, candidates must have prior construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects and possess NJDOT Site Manager experience. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Construction office and project administration</li><li>Document management and electronic processing of field reports, technical data, Pre-Activity meetings, and materials test reports.</li><li>Daily document control and management of contract documents</li><li>Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for distribution</li><li>Prepare and process RFI’s, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change order</li><li>Support CM project managers with coordination and scheduling of field activities.</li><li>Copy, edit, and proofread proposals</li><li>Develop marketing materials, proposal content, and qualification packages; create presentations for CM pursuit interviews</li><li>Assist with processing CM group invoicing</li><li>May coach and/or guide a subordinate group.</li></ul>

Required Skills & Required Experience:
<ul><li>Minimum 6 years prior bridge construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects required.</li><li>Experience of Milling and paving work required</li><li>NJDOT Site Manager required.</li><li>OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred.</li><li>NJSAT, ACI Field Grade I Technician, ACI-CCTC and Rutgers TCC certifications preferred.</li><li>Additional requirements include excellent communications skills, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.</li><li>Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.</li><li>Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.</li></ul>Don’t meet every single requirement? Salary Range:
The projected hourly range for this position is $40.00-$65.00. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
