JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Accounting Manager is responsible for collecting, tracking, and maintaining financial data and records. This role conducts accounting and financial analyses across areas such as auditing, reconciliations, compliance, and cash management. In addition, the position supports functions including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and administrative aspects of human resources. The Accounting Manager also oversees the processing, verification, and timely payment of invoices while ensuring accurate financial records and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The role regularly applies established accounting principles, practices, and theories to address and resolve moderately complex issues. QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent, 2 – 4 year degree preferred </li><li>One year of experience in the industry preferred </li><li>Familiarity with general ledger and chart of accounts </li><li>Accounting/bookkeeping experience required </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees </li><li>Supervisory experience required </li><li>Read, write and speak English fluently </li></ul>PERFORMANCE STANDARDSCustomer Service: Maintain customer satisfaction as the driving philosophy of the hotel. Financial: Remain within budget for each department projects and/or supplies; accounts payable are accurately processed and properly documented; meet standards for accounts receivable; follow procedures in accordance with Internal Audit; Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing by maintaining near-perfect data integrity, meeting all deadlines, reconciling payroll accounts, enforcing strong internal controls, managing payroll costs, optimizing system efficiency, and promptly resolving employee payroll issues. Work Habits: Meet the hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality; report to work and return from breaks on time; give advance notice when absence is anticipated; require typical amount of supervision; accept work assignments without complaints. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Assures property operations meet internal audit standards</li><li>Daily reconciliation of income journal, credit cards and taxes</li><li>Reconciliation of daily cash, handles daily/weekly banking, maintains property cash banks audits and change </li><li>Daily review and management of the guest ledger and city ledger </li><li>Handle credit card chargebacks in a timely manner </li><li>Make credit checks and obtain approvals to grant credit for direct billing and provide responsive collection efforts for all accounts </li><li>Make daily payroll edits and corrections </li><li>Monitor aging for credits, deposits, overpayments, high balance accounts, and delinquent account </li><li>Run various reports for distribution to departments </li><li>Supervise the financial statement preparation and account reconciliation </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training </li><li>Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet </li></ul>Location: Margaritaville Island Hotel   Pigeon Forge, TN Salary: $60,000+ depending on experience BENEFITS<ul><li>Health, Dental & Vision Insurance (after 30 days)</li><li>PTO / Holiday Pay</li><li>Free Parking</li></ul>
