As a Payroll Processor reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing analytical and customer service support for various payroll initiatives, including wage garnishments. The person filling this role must be knowledgeable in payroll practices and regulations. You will be eligible for a hybrid schedule with Monday through Wednesday in Kinder Morgan’s downtown Houston office and Thursday and Friday being remote-work days. We look forward to seeing your application!<h1>Key Responsibilities</h1><ul><li>Process multi-state, bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule</li><li>Administer payroll activities related to new hires, transfers, terminations, and pay rate changes</li><li>Oversee and administer wage garnishments, including calculations, processing, and refunds</li><li>Enter, verify, and maintain direct deposit information and federal, state, and local tax withholding elections</li><li>Calculate and process manual checks for retro pay, missing time, additional earnings, and garnishment refunds</li><li>Review and audit timesheets and payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance</li><li>Research and respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner</li><li>Provide excellent customer service to employees, HR partners, and managers via email and phone</li><li>Assist with the development and maintenance of payroll process documentation</li><li>Serve as a backup to other payroll team members as needed</li><li>Participate in special projects and perform other payroll-related duties as assigned</li><li>Maintain a strong commitment to personal and workplace safety</li></ul> <h1>Required Qualifications</h1><ul><li>3 years of experience processing payroll for a multi-state employer with multiple locations</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)</li><li>Experience administering wage garnishments</li><li>Experience processing payroll using an integrated HR/payroll system</li><li>Experience with time and attendance systems</li><li>Working knowledge of federal and state wage and tax laws, including overtime requirements</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills</li><li>High attention to detail and ability to resolve payroll discrepancies</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service</li><li>Ability to work independently within established processes and meet multiple deadlines</li><li>Effective communication skills with employees, managers, vendors, and internal partners</li><li>Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion</li><li>Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li><li>Associate degree</li><li>Experience with Lawson Payroll Module</li><li>Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting</li><li>Experience using ADP SmartCompliance</li></ul><h1>Preferred Qualifications</h1>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.<table border="0"><tbody><tr><td/><td> </td><td/></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>

Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant
 We are seeking an experienced and hands-on accounting professional to join our team immediately. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll support, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and inventory-related accounting functions.  
Responsibilities
  Maintain and reconcile the companys General Ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. 
 Process and enter all accounts payable invoices while ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained prior to payment. 
 Prepare and issue approved vendor payments through designated payment methods. 
 Record and reconcile all cash receipts and disbursements. 
 Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, credit card payable accounts, and credit card collection accounts. 
 Prepare monthly financial statements by the 15th day of the following month. 
 Calculate hourly payroll hours worked and prepare payroll information for submission to the payroll processor, subject to management approval. 
 Calculate sales commissions and incentive compensation for sales personnel and prepare submissions for payroll processing. 
 Audit and verify incoming inventory against invoices and packing documentation, identifying and reporting discrepancies. 
 Assist with inventory processes including applying retail labels to inventory items. 
 Maintain organized accounting and vendor files to ensure quick and accurate document retrieval. 
 Supervise and direct the daily duties of the Sales Order & Inventory Data Clerk. 
 Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support financial operations and reporting needs. 
Qualifications
  5+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger and full-cycle accounting knowledge. 
 Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll support, and financial statement preparation. 
 Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
 Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. 
 Inventory accounting or inventory reconciliation experience is a plus. 
 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems. 
 Strong communication and organizational skills.

OVERVIEW:Performs professional accounting functions in either accounting staff or operating unit applications.  In staff applications, functions are typically to conduct studies, analyze financial data, monitor costs and cost control procedures and provide accounting staff support to Controller's Division or to assigned proponent department personnel such as project management.  In operating applications, functions are typically to accumulate and prepare CCSD input data, prepare schedules, reports and payrolls, make related accounting entries, initiate payments, and maintain records and controls.  SCOPE:Responsible, under the general direction of Accounting Staff Analysts or Financial Analysts, for assignments that are typically of limited scope with the parameters reasonably well defined and the approach/methods established by previous similar studies and efforts.  Incumbent is expected to function relatively independently in performing assignments.  Supervision is normally limited to discussion of initial job assignments, consultation on unusual situations, periodic progress reports and review of completed work.  In operating unit applications, duties are normally defined and structured by policy and procedures with supervision from Unit Head.  Volume, diversity, and accuracy standards of work, however, require that incumbent be and remain thoroughly familiar with all procedures, instructions and precedents applicable to the assigned unit.  Supervisor is normally available for consultation and guidance. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:<ul><li>Responsible for processing the organization's payroll by calculating employee wages, processing payroll taxes, and distributing paychecks.</li><li>Must keep track of multiple deadlines and ensure that all payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and on time. In addition to managing the day-to-day payroll process, Payroll Processors may also be responsible for maintaining payroll records, preparing payroll reports, and reconciling any discrepancies or errors. </li><li>Assists in implementing approved accounting procedure changes with operating units and CCSD as required, including revision of related user manuals and forms and training assistance.                                                                           </li><li>Computes, compiles, and processes accounting data; examines, reconciles, and monitors disbursements and associated accounting entries and support documents to assure compliance with established procedure.                </li><li>Prepares data, calculations, statements, reports and computer input as required by specific job assignment.     </li><li>Conducts special studies of limited scope.  Develops new or revised accounting procedures, tests validity, presents findings, and recommends approval.                                   </li><li>Investigates the significance of changes in account balances, overhead rates, construction costs, and unit costs; identifies contributing factors and summarizes finding, conclusions, and recommendations.                                  </li><li>Maintains and controls documents, ledgers, records and manuals as assigned.                                                          </li><li>Assists in review system change proposals developed in other departments to determine their impact on the Controller's Division systems, procedures and operations.</li><li>Advises supervisor and/or appropriate operating personnel of problems or unusual situations and provides recommendations for corrective action.                              </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics and one (1) year diversified accounting experience.  May consider candidate with high school diploma who demonstrates the ability to perform the assigned tasks which typically is gained from ten (10) years of diversified accounting experience relative to the specific area of assignment.  This experience should include two (2) years work experience as a group leader or supervisor.  Work experience should reflect progressively greater responsibilities.</li><li>Must be able to communicate and comprehend English accurately, clearly and concisely at a level required to perform the job as outlined.</li><li>Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.</li><li>Knowledge of ADP Payroll Workforce Now</li></ul><ul><li>must have a strong understanding of state and federal laws, accounting principles, and have strong mathematical and analytical skills.</li><li>Must be flexible with scheduling time off based on the demands of the department in regards to Holidays and quarter/year end processing.</li></ul>  NO THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATES ACCEPTED; TEMPORARY POSITION ANTICIPATED TO LAST APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR.  Powered by JazzHR
