Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant provides superior patient care and performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patients in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider. <ul style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed; margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Patient visit support that may include: Greeting patients, and escorting patient to exam room and/or taking patients’ vital signs, and other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the patients visit and recommended treatment.</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments. Ensures patient exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients. Provides patients with privacy, comfort, safety and hygiene.</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Addresses and requests referrals and other insurance authorizations in addition to passing along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to necessary parties. This includes calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Job Requirements:  <ul style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed; margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">High school diploma or GED equivalent.</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.</li><li>BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.</li></ul> Preferred Job Requirements: <ul style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed; margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program or two years of MA experience.</li><li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).</li><li>Associate’s degree.</li></ul>
