We are currently hiring an Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Scientist with 0-5 years of environmental consulting experience in our growing Chattanooga office. The successful candidate will work with an energetic and entrepreneurial team of brownfield investigation and remediation professionals. This position requires a combination of field and office work. Field work may vary from 30 to 100% project dependent.  Expect an average of 25-75% of field time. Although the majority of field work will be focused in Eastern Tennessee, occasional travel may be required. This is a project-manager track position. This role will support Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental investigation and remediation projects at sites with contamination by materials such as solvents, petroleum fuels, metals, and PCBs. This role may also support our regulated building materials (asbestos, lead-based paint, etc.) program. You have the opportunity to join a dynamic team working on large, technically engaging, and impactful projects. Candidates experienced with the Tennessee and Georgia state Brownfield Programs will be given preference. Duties:<ul><li>Lead, coordinate and/or support field investigation and sampling events including soil, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.</li><li>Collect environmental samples and field screening data</li><li>Maintain field forms and other documentation</li><li>Field and laboratory data review and interpretation</li><li>Technical report writing and review</li><li>Data tabulation and management</li><li>Environmental monitoring and construction observation</li><li>Collaborate/coordinate with general contractors, earthwork contractors, drilling subcontractors, utility locators, etc.</li><li>Occasional out of town travel</li><li>Occasional weekend and overtime work</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>0-5 Years Experience performing Phase II ESAs and brownfield investigation and remediation projects.</li><li>BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field</li><li>MS Office Suite proficiency</li><li>Strong communication skills, critical thinking, creativity</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Field sampling experience</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50-pounds regularly.</li><li>Possess and maintain and valid driver’s license.</li><li>40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and up to date annual refresher</li></ul>BenefitsBody, mind, and wallet—LaBella’s benefits support a holistic approach to your health and wellness, creating the foundation for physical, mental, and financial well-being.
