<div><strong>Adjunct Instructor - General Physics Online<br/></strong><br/>Adjunct Physics Instructor needed for Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This is an accelerated, 10-week quarter-based program, located in Jeffersonville, IN.<br/><br/></div><div>At Caris College we believe in student-centered learning. Our curriculum is designed with a focus on active learning, minimizing lecture time, and maximizing hands-on experience. We believe in wrapping support around our students, helping them to reach their goals, while holding them accountable for their individual learning.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Title:</strong> Adjunct Instructor.</div><div><strong>Department:</strong> Diagnostic Medical Sonography.</div><div><strong>Immediate Supervisor:</strong> Campus Director, Director of Academic Operations.</div><div><strong>Employment Status:</strong> Contract/10 week term (twice annually).<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Job Summary:</strong></div><div>Adjunct instructors are required to provide instruction and monitor learning/teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Program Director. They are responsible for, but are not limited to, the following:</div><ul><li>Teach the following course(s): 1. General Physics.</li><li>Prepare and, on the first day of class, distribute course syllabi which informs the students as to absences, tardiness, testing, assignments and grading policies.</li><li>Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, tests and homework.</li><li>Compile, administer and grade instruments that evaluate student progress.</li><li>Encourage the use of school resources, outside library and internet sources.</li><li>Counsel students and notify student and Program Director of frequent absences, failures, or necessary make-up work.</li><li>Hold all assigned classes on time in the assigned classrooms and be available to students 15 minutes before class, except between classes (if teaching courses back-to-back), and 15 minutes after class to offer guidance/tutoring to students.</li><li>Follow procedures related to the Registrar’s office, including grade papers and deadlines, attendance record reports, withdrawal deadlines, midterm reports and the like.</li><li>Follow the academic calendar and procedures.</li><li>Direct library research or other outside assignments.</li><li>Promote Caris College programs and curricula.</li><li>Update syllabi, as needed.</li><li>Substitute for colleagues when necessary.</li><li>Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials and classrooms.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Campus Director.</li></ul><div><strong>Educational Requirements:</strong></div><ul><li>Must meet ABHES, KCPE and BPE instructor qualifications.</li></ul><br/><br/><strong>About Caris College:</strong><p>Caris College’s mission is to provide our students with a solid foundation in their area of study.Whether it’s a career as a medical assistant, dental assistant, veterinary assistant, acute clinical technician, practical nurse, or medical sonographer/ultrasound technician, we strive to give our students a well-balanced curriculum in the classroom and when appropriate include laboratory training and supervised clinical experience.
