To efficiently and effectively operate the pilot plant equipment in order to develop and scale-up new products, modify current products, and produce semi-commercial product as required in support of the facility and business. Essential Functions<ul><li>Maintains knowledge of chemistries in the pilot plant and mentors new employees.</li><li>Operates all pilot plant equipment (reactors, filter systems, etc.) and uses DCS to control equipment.</li><li>Troubleshoots problems with pilot plant equipment and processes, alerts supervision of problems with pilot plant equipment and processes when necessary.</li><li>Writes pilot plant SOPs as needed, modifies and approves equipment operating procedures and MOC's.</li><li>Analyzes and interprets analytical issues to determine how to proceed with the batch(s) or experiments.</li><li>Collects, stores, and labels pilot plant wastes as accumulated with awareness to ensure all environmental requirements are met.</li></ul><ul><li>Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.</li><li> </li></ul>Education Qualifications<ul><li>Required High School or Equivalent (college or trade school experience a plus) </li></ul>Experience Qualifications<ul><li>Preferred 5+ years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment </li></ul>Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Good organizational skills </li><li>Good verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Good problem-solving, math and basic computer skills. </li><li>Ability to work with minimum supervision and willingness to accept responsibility for work area. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn new product chemistries and their corresponding chemical processes. </li><li>Proficiency in MS Office preferred. </li><li>SAP, Provox, and Delta V experience a plus. </li></ul>Working Conditions/Physical Demands<ul><li>Ability to climb ladders and stairs to operate equipment and perform accurate readings.</li><li>Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and twisting required.</li><li>Able to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Must be able to wear full-body PPE, including chemical protective suits, gloves, safety footwear, hard hats, and face shields.</li><li>Must meet respirator fit-test requirements (half-mask, full-face, and SCBA) and maintain a clean-shaven face to ensure proper seal.</li></ul> All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. #MonumentChemical
