We would thoroughly enjoy meeting with you and discussing our employment opportunities. The Patient Services Representative will perform routine clerical and administrative work including greeting and assisting patients, insurance verification, management of appointment schedule and accurate record-keeping. The PSR has a significant role as you serve as the initial point of contact and make the first impression on all patients visiting the office. This is especially important in a medical environment where people may be apprehensive. Effective execution of this role will require the ability to multitask and respond to the needs of the patients and other staff efficiently and calmly.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Greet and welcome all patients and visitors upon arrival to clinic</li><li>Follow all practice policies and procedures for thorough and complete check in and check out process</li><li>Utilize multiple methods of data collection including paper, electronic, kiosk, and web-based applications</li><li>Confirm that accurate patient demographic and insurance information has been collected and update if necessary </li><li>Confirm insurance eligibility and verify active and participating coverage</li><li>Accurately calculate and collect patient co-payments, deductibles, and due balances </li><li>Schedule return appointments and set up reminder notifications</li><li>Professionally assist doctor, staff, patients and visitors</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient information </li><li>Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized</li><li>Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels of retail items (if applicable)</li><li>Answer inbound and outbound phone calls with appropriate telephone etiquette</li><li>Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner</li><li>Execute duties of position in a professional and courteous manner</li><li>Accept incoming packages/postal mail including insurance mail, patient correspondence, interoffice mail, and direct to appropriate internal recipients</li><li>Must be willing to travel between locations to support front office operations (only applicable for multi-location practices)</li><li>Must be willing to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required to support business needs</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent is required</li><li>Must be compassionate and can establish confidence and trust with patients</li><li>Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress</li><li>Highly energetic with a positive attitude</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Possess strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Create and maintain positive interpersonal relationships </li><li>Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently</li><li>One or more years’ experience working in a medical practice preferred</li><li>Knowledge of medical and vision and insurances preferred</li><li>Basic computer knowledge required</li><li>Experience with NextGen, Microsoft, Clearwave preferred</li></ul>In Turn We Will Provide:<ul><li>Benefits to full time team members that include comprehensive medical, dental and optical coverage, 401K and short and long term disability</li><li>Company paid life insurance</li><li>Paid parking where applicable</li><li>Paid holidays and generous paid time off</li><li>Team oriented working environment where you are heard and respected</li><li>Clear career ladder opportunities</li><li>Pay Range $19/hr. to $21/hr.</li></ul>#ESP1
