Duties may include working assigned posts, conducting foot, bike, and vehicle patrols, providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, students, faculty and staff, performing visitor control, de-escalating and intervening in combative situations, staffing the Public Safety Operations Center (PSOC) and providing real-time intelligence through alarms, radios, cameras, and direct observation to the Health Division. The Police Department's Health Division uses a hybrid model that includes Police Officers, Public Safety Ambassadors, Public Safety Responders, Public Safety Supervisors, Security Supervisors, and other professional staff members who work together to safeguard the lives and property of the University and its patients, visitors, faculty, staff, and students at the various UCI sites.
