Position Summary: Greet patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming way, while checking patients in and out using the facility’s practice management system. Collection and posting of patient payments. Provide excellent customer service.<div style="text-align:center"> Minimum two years' experience working in a medical front office is required.   </div>Essential Duties:<ul><li>Greet patients and welcome patients and visitors as they enter the waiting area and as they depart, screening and directing them appropriately. </li><li>Check patients in and out using the practice management system. </li><li>Responsible for collecting and posting patient payments with accuracy. </li><li>Assist patients with their registration in the facility’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.</li><li>Present and explain all policies, forms and consents and obtain signatures.  </li><li>Obtain insurance eligibility and benefits for office visits and procedures. </li><li>Schedule/reschedule follow-up appointments for patients to include work-in      appointments. Manage and schedule inbound referrals</li><li>Process medical records requests following HIPAA guidelines. </li><li>Obtain external medical records for patients prior to date of service. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness of the lobby and front office area.</li><li>Monitor the patients as they wait in the lobby for their appointments. </li><li>Exhibit and maintain a high degree of professionalism and decorum in all situations in addition to confidentiality, flexibility, and accountability. </li></ul>Position Requirements:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of medical front office experience required. </li><li>Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills</li><li>Experience with performing insurance eligibility verification, explaining insurance benefits and payment arrangements to patients. </li><li>Understanding of and adherence to HIPAA/confidentiality rules. </li><li>Experience with working with medical records and documents.</li><li>Experience in working with incoming and outgoing referrals.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. </li><li>Familiarity with EMR software and previous money handling experience preferred.</li></ul>Physical demands may include:              1. An employee in this position routinely works with general supervision and review, and any work problems involving departures from standard policies, interpretations, or procedures are reviewed with the supervisor for resolution.
