Position Title:                    Planner/Scheduler Reports To:                       Senior Scheduler & VP Programs Location:                           Honolulu, Hawaii Position Summary Pacific Shipyards International (PSI) is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. We have been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources. We are seeking a Planner/Scheduler to join the Programs Division. The Planner/Scheduler will work directly with the project management team to develop, maintain, and progress schedules for multiple ship repair projects. The Planner/Scheduler will work closely with executive management, estimators, project managers, and production managers to support scheduling activities and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and reporting to the customer. Essential Duties & Responsibilities<ul><li>Responsible for developing an Integrated Product Schedule (I.P.S.) and creating timelines with key milestones while assisting the project manager to maintain schedule.</li><li>Collects and analyzes information used to plan and schedule ship repairs.</li><li>Develops and gathers information to provide regular updates to the schedule.</li><li>Monitors the schedule regularly to identify issues and provide proactive resolutions.</li><li>Oversees the schedule health metrics to ensure the schedule is following contract requirements.</li><li>Coordinates meetings with project/planning team to discuss issues, improvements, and or changes to schedule.</li><li>Utilizes standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools.</li><li>Supports bids and proposals as needed; technical writing and estimating capabilities are a plus.</li></ul>Education/Training/Skills:<ul><li>Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experience.</li><li>Able to construct and modify project schedules using MS Project and/or Oracle Primavera P6.</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in ship repair project planning or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Knowledge of working with federal contracts is helpful.</li><li>Knowledge of NAVSEA standards is helpful.</li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Project and Excel.</li><li>Must possess an understanding of planning/scheduling principles, practices, and techniques and be capable of developing schedules from contract documents and work specifications.</li><li>Must have strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Must be a team player!</li></ul>Qualification/Requirements:<ul><li>Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States</li><li>Requires US Citizenship.</li><li>Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).</li><li>Must be able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential.</li><li>All candidates must pass a post-offer drug screening and background check.</li><li>Valid State of Hawaii REAL ID-Compliant Drivers’ License in good standing or a valid U.S. Passport in addition to a valid Hawaii Driver’s License, if you do not have a REAL ID-Compliant Driver’s License, class 3 or higher</li><li>Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites.</li></ul>Our Values Legacy: Family-owned throughout its history, PSI strives to fulfill the goals that motivated our founder in 1944: we dedicate ourselves wholly to caring for our customers so that they can continue to serve our community. Key activities include:• Coordinates daily activities of Companys pipeline chartered barges and tugs with the refinery and contracted operator.
• Acts as a first point of contact with contracted barge operator for all issues related to barge schedules and cargo operations plans.
• Translate required information from internal supply, marketing groups, and external shipping agents into pipeline or voyage orders for operators.
• Daily participation in various meetings, training, and other events as required.Must work weekends and holidays as needed. Generate weekly reports for Senior Leadership to give key updates on the coming Ethanol situation.External - work with 3rd-party contacts to maintain accurate forecasts of Ethanol demand outside of Pars utilization. Ensure that any tank outages or service interruptions are understood and accounted for in our Ethanol plan. Coordinate sampling and testing of Ethanol as required for acceptance into 3rd-party terminals.As needed, communicate with other internal and external parties regarding a wide variety of subjects that pertain to Ethanol.Utility Fuels ForecastingInternal - work with Oils Planning, Logistics, Billing, and Marketing to maintain accurate details on utility fuels volumes monthly. Primarily liaise with Oils Planning to ensure forecasted volume is being met and maintain secondary tracking of deliveries and current inventory. Maintain Excel spreadsheets for utility fuels on key tracking metrics. Work with Neighbor Island Terminals and Barge Scheduler to ensure Neighbor Island utility fuels demands are being communicated and met properly. Notify Billing of pending sales of utility fuels as required.External - work with 3rd-party customers to ensure clear communication of demands and help as needed with scheduling of utility fuels deliveries. Coordinate sampling and testing of products as required. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders.As needed, communicate with other internal and external parties regarding a wide variety of subjects that pertain to utility fuels.Inventory AccountingMaintain accurate data on a variety of spreadsheets to reflect currently balanced and future inventory projections. Communicate with inventory accountants routinely to provide updates on upcoming transfers, exchanges, deliveries, and receipts, and provide paperwork to support volume reconciliation. As needed, post inventory receipt documentation to SAP on a timely basis. This includes but is not limited to barge receipts and deliveries, pipeline deliveries, Ethanol receipts and deliveries, Jet receipts and deliveries.
