GatorWell Health Promotion Services seeks a Health Promotion Specialist to develop, implement, and evaluate theory-based, evidence-informed strategies that promote the health and wellbeing of UF students. This work is grounded in an understanding that students' academic success is directly shaped by their overall wellbeing — with stress, sleep, time management, and procrastination among the most reported barriers. They will provide individual student services such as Wellness Coaching for Academic Success and educational consultations.<table><tbody><tr><th>Classification Title:</th><td><p>Health Promotion Specialist – Teams Exempt </p></td></tr><tr><th>Classification Minimum Requirements:</th><td><p>Master’s degree in an appropriate area or two years of experience with a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area.  </p></td></tr><tr><th>Job Description:</th><td><p>The Health Promotion Specialist, Flourishing, will be a member of the professional team for GatorWell Health Promotion Services and the Division of Student Life. The Health Promotion Specialist, Flourishing will help in developing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating educational programming, initiatives, and workshops for students regarding flourishing. They will also support wellbeing initiatives with University of Florida campus partners. Duties shall include providing individual student services such as Wellness Coaching for Academic Success and oral HIV Testing; supporting student success through programming and outreach; creating materials and outreach to engage with students across campus to promote optimal wellbeing; supervising and evaluating student staff; presenting at various events and programs, and advocating for holistic student wellbeing by assisting with strategic planning efforts.</p><div><div><p><strong>Essential Functions of the Job include:</strong><strong>   </strong></p></div><div><ul><li><p>Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and evaluate a comprehensive vision advocating for UF student flourishing, intervention development, implementation and evaluation of theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, targeted programs, outreach, and policies targeting UF students’ impediments to academic success.  </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Contribute to campus wide health promotion efforts and messaging.  </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Provide individual student services as aligned with the department, including but not limited to Wellness Coaching for Academic Success, oral HIV Testing, and topic-specific consultations covering topics such as time management, sleep, and stress management.  </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Hire, supervise and manage undergraduate and graduate student staff and interns. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Support data tracking and report development related to health promotion initiatives, strategies, programs, and services;  </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Support department grant funding and reporting.  </p></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><p>Assess the health needs, interests, and behaviors of students to inform programming priorities. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Contribute to the division and university through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives.  </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Driving a personal vehicle to transport materials to various campus locations may be required.   </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor. </p></li></ul></div></div></td></tr><tr><th> Salary: </th><td>$54,000.00 annually </td></tr><tr><th>Required Qualifications:</th><td><div><div><ul><li><p>Knowledge of the American College Health Association’s Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education (ACHA SPHPHE) and Healthy Campus Framework. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Familiarity with national and international university health promoting frameworks </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, behavior change, population-based theories and models, and evidence-based health promotion programs/initiatives. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Demonstrated skills in developing and targeting health promotion initiatives and educational materials for various groups of college students. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational methods (e.g., presentations, workshops, trainings, individual behavior change sessions and small group discussion/facilitation). </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Proficiency in data collection and assessment tools such as Qualtrics. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Ability to analyze problems, conduct research, and implement solutions. </p></li></ul></div></div></td></tr><tr><th>Preferred:</th><td><div><div><ul><li><p>Master's degree in public health, health promotion, health policy or health education; degrees in other health related fields may be considered. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Experience in a higher education environment. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH). </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Certified Wellness Coach (or eligible and intent to become certified). </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Experience conducting needs assessments and using results to guide programmatic decisions. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Experience with design and implementation of health promotion programs. </p></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><p>Supervisory and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, on campus and in the community. </p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>Physical ability to perform required tasks;
