OverviewNature's Sunshine is seeking a highly analytical intern to support data-driven decision making across promotions, customer behavior, and direct-to-consumer performance.This role focuses on understanding how promotions, pricing, and customer dynamics influence purchasing behavior. You will work with transaction-level data to evaluate promotion effectiveness, analyze customer behavior, and support development of predictive insights.Responsibilities<ul><li>Analyze promotion performance (discounts, bundles, campaigns) to measure incremental lift and impact on customer behavior</li><li>Evaluate how promotions influence repeat purchase, stock-up behavior, and purchase timing</li><li>Build customer segmentations using behavioral data (e.g., purchase frequency, recency, spend)</li><li>Support development of models to estimate:<ul><li>likelihood to purchase</li><li>response to promotions</li><li>repeat purchase / churn risk</li></ul></li><li>Analyze cohort behavior (e.g., customers acquired through promotions vs. non-promotional periods)</li><li>Work with transaction-level datasets to create features (recency, frequency, monetary value, promotion exposure)</li><li>Translate analysis into clear insights to support marketing and commercial decisions</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Pursuing a degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Applied Math, Economics (quantitative), or similar</li><li>Coursework or project experience in statistics or data analysis, including:<ul><li>regression (linear or logistic)</li><li>hypothesis testing or statistical inference</li></ul></li><li>Demonstrated experience working with data beyond basic Excel (through class projects, research, or internships)</li><li>Familiarity with at least one of the following:<ul><li>SQL</li><li>Python (pandas, numpy, or similar)</li><li>R</li></ul></li><li>Experience or exposure (coursework or projects) to at least one of:<ul><li>customer segmentation (e.g., RFM, clustering)</li><li>predictive modeling (e.g., propensity, churn, classification problems)</li><li>analyzing customer or transaction-level datasets</li></ul></li><li>Ability to explain analytical work clearly and connect results to business questions</li></ul>Nice to have<ul><li>Experience analyzing marketing or promotion-related data (coursework or projects is sufficient)</li><li>Exposure to A/B testing or evaluating campaign performance</li><li>Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)</li></ul> Nature's Sunshine is dedicated to being a Force of Nature that champions social and environmental wellness. Your day-to-day will include the following initiatives:<ul><li>Develops, plans, and implements Annual Marketing Plan and Budget, including research data, SWOT, center goals and objectives, strategies and tactics in consultation with national retail leadership, management and leasing.</li><li>Manages the shopping center marketing budget to fully utilize tenant, landlord, and alternative contributions to maximize property traffic and sales.</li><li>Works with the national retail team to implement corporate brand marketing, policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives at the field level.</li><li>Plans and directs the advertising, public relations, special events, sales promotions, community programming, and retailer relations activities for the center.</li><li>Oversees and coordinates center events. Event responsibilities include communication and negotiations with event participants, preparing contracts, facilitating event implementation, being on-site to oversee center events and compiling event recaps.</li><li>Collaborates with the national retail team to achieve appropriate client-driven property goals and objectives in line with the center’s business plan.</li><li>Manages tenant relations program. Supports tenant retention by developing tenant merchandising and promotional initiatives. Reviews monthly sales reports to ensure a thorough knowledge of retailer sales; tracks key retailer and category trends.</li><li>Attends community, merchant, staff and city meetings & professionally represents the center and Avison Young in the community.</li><li>Manages and drives growth and engagement of digital media programs, including social media, web, e-mail, and mobile as applicable.</li><li>Communicates effectively with staff, tenants, public, national retail leaders, and ownership as needed or required.</li><li>Reviews and approves invoices for marketing expenses and adheres to budget guidelines.</li><li>Secures cash sponsorship of special events and community programs and finds innovative ways to generate additional income for the marketing budget.</li><li>Reviews and prepares a monthly report of results and accomplishments, including PR, advertising, event programming/activations, digital/social results, sales, merchant relations, community relations and budget variances, including seasonal ROI and KPI tracking.</li><li>Supervises the selection and operation of seasonal décor in collaboration with the property manager and national retail team.</li><li>Monitors common area and customer journey/experience and collaborates with property management and operations on day-to-day experience for guests.</li><li>Partners with the leasing and specialty leasing teams to support their leasing efforts by compiling relevant information and assets, including property photography.</li><li>Works extended hours, including weekends, as necessary to achieve the desired results for the property.</li><li>Supervises all other aspects of marketing as required.</li></ul>The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $98,000 to $100,200 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.<h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations or related discipline, plus a minimum of five years experience in marketing, special events, communications or a related field,preferably within the Shopping Center Industry.
