That’s where you come in!</p><p> </p><p>This Game Editor position draws on your love of language, mastery of grammar, drive for consistency, and knowledge of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. Our team of outstanding Editors collaborates to ensure that all text elements of D&D products and related materials meet our quality standards for grammar, punctuation, factual accuracy, clarity, audience, tone, consistency between art and text, and layout.</p><p>This role does require three days a week in our Renton, WA office. </p><h2>What You’ll Do:</h2><ul><li>Perform significant copy editing and proofreading on D&D products, packaging, and Unearthed Arcana playtests.</li><li>Support game designers, other editors, and other collaborators across multiple projects.</li><li>Create and maintain accurate supporting documentation.</li></ul><h2>What You’ll Brin</h2><ul><li>2+ years of experience as a paid copy editor or proofreader—preferably for game content or other technical material.</li><li>2+ years of experience playing D&D.</li><li>Experience with Chicago Manual of Style (or a comparable style guide).</li><li>Strong editing skills and attention to visual detail.</li><li>Flexible, adaptable mind with a constant appetite for knowledge.</li><li>Proven collaboration and communication skills, with the confidence and trust to work with others.</li><li>Comfort working in shared document systems and version-controlled environments.</li></ul><h2>Nice to Have:</h2><ul><li>Experience with InDesign or InCopy.</li></ul><p style="margin-bottom:11px"><strong>We are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer</strong></p><p style="margin-bottom:11px">Wizards of the Coast is committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. That’s where you come in!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>This EN/JP Bilingual Production Editor position (Contract)</strong> draws on your love of English and Japanese. It also requires proficiency in grammar in both languages, a drive for consistency, and knowledge of Magic. Our team of outstanding Editors collaborates to ensure that all text elements of Magic card sets and related materials meet our quality standards for grammar, punctuation, factual accuracy, clarity, audience, tone, consistency between art and text, and layout. This role specializes in facilitating production editing work with Japanese-language partner organizations.</p><p> </p><p>This position is <strong>eligible for remote work within the United States</strong>, subject to Wizards of the Coast’s remote work guidelines and business needs.</p><h2> </h2><h2>WHAT YOU’LL DO:</h2><ul><li>Perform significant copy editing and proofreading on <strong>English- and Japanese-language</strong> Magic cards, packaging, and related assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established Magic style and terminology.</li><li>Build and maintain accurate records in our Magic card set database and supporting documentation.</li><li>Translate written presentations, feedback, and other supporting materials between English and Japanese for Universes Beyond cards and packaging.</li></ul><h2> </h2><h2>WHAT YOU’LL BRING:</h2><ul><li>2+ years of experience as a paid copy editor or proofreader, with proven experience editing <strong>both English and Japanese-language content</strong>, and strong attention to linguistic and visual detail.</li><li>2+ years of experience playing Magic. Familiarity with both past and present Magic cards.</li><li><strong>Professional proficiency in English speaking and writing</strong>, along with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand Japanese at a working professional level (N3 or higher). A love of Japanese culture and intellectual properties.</li><li>Flexible, adaptable mind with a constant appetite for knowledge.</li><li>Deeply collaborative outlook combined with the confidence and trust to work with others.</li><li>Experience with Smartsheet, databases, InDesign, or InCopy a plus.</li></ul><p> </p><h2><strong>Additional Details:</strong></h2><div>Please note that this is a <strong>temporary assignment</strong> providing services to Wizards through an external staffing agency.
