Overview Our client, a privately held multi-market media company, is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial planning, reporting, and analysis for its Madison-based regional operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will partner closely with the Regional Publisher and division leaders to support financial performance, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.This is a key leadership role for a finance professional who enjoys working within an operationally complex business and thrives in environments where data-driven insight directly influences day-to-day decisions.Core Duties <ul><li>Lead monthly close processes, financial reporting, and variance analysis for the Madison division</li><li>Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in partnership with operational leaders</li><li>Provide financial modeling and analysis to support pricing, advertising packages, and event ROI</li><li>Monitor revenue performance across print, digital, and event lines</li><li>Manage AR aging and partner with sales operations on collections</li><li>Support audit preparation and compliance with corporate accounting policies</li><li>Identify cost optimization opportunities and process improvements</li><li>Present financial results to senior leadership and contribute to strategic planning</li></ul>RequirementsRequired Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field</li><li>5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience</li><li>Strong proficiency with Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools</li><li>Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis</li><li>Strong analytical skills and business acumen</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>CPA, CMA, or MBA</li><li>Media, publishing, or advertising industry experience</li><li>Experience in multi-entity or multi-location financial reporting</li><li>Familiarity with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar systems</li></ul>BenefitsRemuneration & Benefits Package<ul><li>$85k to $110k annual salary (depending on experience)</li><li>Performance-based bonus structure</li><li>Full benefits package including ESOP participation</li><li>Hybrid work flexibility after onboarding period</li></ul>Keller is a recruitment agency that provides services to clients ranging from startups and non profits to multinational corporations. Your expertise will help refine our products and enhance their value to our audience, ultimately supporting better health outcomes through trusted information.Our Senior Publisher isa strategic and results-driven publishing professional to manage and grow a dynamic portfolio of scholarly journals. In this role, you will oversee financial performance, editorial operations, stakeholder engagement, and portfolio development while driving initiatives that enhance journal quality, visibility, and long-term success. You will lead acquisition and growth efforts by building target pipelines, responding to proposals and expressions of interest, and identifying opportunities within the evolving scholarly publishing landscape. Collaborating across cross-functional teams, you will contribute to department-wide initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, leveraging your expertise in scholarly publishing to solve complex challenges with confidence, independence, and sound judgment.RESPONSIBLITIES<ul><li>Works with the Associate Director, Medical Journals, to develop and execute the strategy of the Wolters Kluwer Health publishing program.</li><li>Identifies strategic priorities based on industry/competitive analysis and market trends. Identifies areas for differentiation and improvement.</li><li>Manages journal/portfolio P&Ls to meet or exceed ROI/profitability targets. Participates in regular budgeting and forecasting process and proactively adjusts product plans to improve/achieve financial performance.</li><li>Gathers and analyzes performance data and KPIs to prepare publishing reports for professional associations and editorial boards. Provides reports on product updates, web metrics, and other key indicators as required.</li><li>Applies AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to support publishing strategy, enhance decision-making, and identify efficiency opportunities.</li><li>Actively develops and pursues new publishing opportunities based on assigned acquisitions targets. Acquires and/or responds to new product or new partnership proposals (i.e. new society journals, proprietary affiliations, portals, CE/CME expansion).</li><li>Launches journals with new and existing customers.</li><li>Negotiates sound editor, society, and sponsorship contracts (new and renewal), including preparing and analyzing financial data.</li><li>Manages the editorial development of journals within assigned portfolio through liaison and regular communication with authors, editors, medical societies and internal and external teams.</li><li>Maintains and enhances the value proposition to authors, editors and societies to increase submissions and impact.</li><li>Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop journal processes, features, and services.</li><li>Promotes and raises awareness and visibility of assigned journal portfolio to the wider market via email, in person meetings, and at appropriate conferences.</li><li>Collaborates with marketing to drive website usage.</li><li>Effectively manages internal/external editorial resources and relationships to ensure operational efficiency.</li><li>Ensure timely and accurate digital content uploads and updates.</li><li>Synthesize customer feedback to inform content updates and improvements.</li><li>Provides project management support, tracking milestones, and ensuring deadlines are met.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Manager.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degree, or if not a degree, 8 years of publishing experience.Required Experience:<ul><li>5 years of STM (Science, Technology, & Medical) publishing experience.</li></ul>Preferred Experience:<ul><li>3 years of print and online product development and management experience preferred.</li><li>5 years of journal publishing experience preferred.</li><li>Strong financial analysis and financial modeling skills.</li><li>Experienced at defining product requirements for high traffic media websites.</li><li>Experience in management and execution of major projects with strong problem-solving skills.</li><li>Demonstrate proven organizational and planning skills while exhibiting detail-oriented behavior.</li><li>Excellent writing, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.</li></ul>TRAVEL:<ul><li>15% – 20% between Wolters Kluwer Health office locations (Philadelphia and New York).
