Handles correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery options, shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices, and reports such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner. Maintains accuracy of stock information with MRP including lead time, pricing, current supplier information, order data, etc.

The Buyer communicates with vendors and suppliers to assure the delivery of purchased materials. This position monitors supplier performance obtains all required parts and supplies and verifies the receipt of all items. He or she authorizes payment and manages and controls inventory.Essential Functions<ol><li>Follows Jonti-Craft policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services.</li><li>Issues requests for quotes/proposals and selects the best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements. </li><li>Handles correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery options, shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices, and reports such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner.</li><li>Is a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.</li><li>Processes non-conforming material requests and RMA requests with supply chain partners.</li><li>Maintains appropriate inventory levels consistent with inventory goals and as set by management.</li><li>Maintains accuracy of stock information with MRP including lead time, pricing, current supplier information, order data, etc.</li><li>Monitors supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications.</li><li>Maintains appropriate files and documentation from meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.</li><li>Follows policies and procedures established by Jonti-Craft. </li><li>Works with the Production Planning Supervisor to establish volume purchasing programs. </li><li>Makes certain that purchasing documents are completed properly and the terms and conditions of purchases are correct and appropriate.</li><li>Works closely with the Production Planning Supervisor regarding scheduling to maintain "just in time" levels of inventory. </li></ol> Additional Functions<ol><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ol>Qualifications<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent experience.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Experience in a purchasing materials environment.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Minimum of 5-8 years' experience in purchasing experience preferred.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Excellent attention to detail.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Exceptional teamwork and customer service abilities.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Proficiency in query-based data acquisition. </li><li style="line-height:normal">Excellent process and product knowledge and leadership ability. </li></ul> Job Posted by ApplicantPro
