A high-school diploma or GED Knowledge of basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts Working knowledge of types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales Must be familiar with measurements using hand tools such as calipers and micrometers Familiar with reading and interpreting blueprints and identifying critical, major, and minor characteristics Understand different testing methods Understand traceability (product, material, and calibration) Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds Ability to work in a team environment. 2+ years of on-the-job aerospace experience 2+ years experience in composite inspection or fabrication and mechanical inspection General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and understanding of the x, y, z coordinate system Basic knowledge of statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data, and how to recognize out-of-control conditions Basic knowledge of plan-do-check-act (PDCA) ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certificate.
