Responsibilities: <ul><li>Use your natural curiosity to pitch compelling stories. </li><li>Show off your creativity and storytelling skills. </li><li>Craft stories of all lengths on all platforms for specific audiences. </li><li>Meet daily deadlines. </li><li>Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience. </li><li>Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events. </li><li>Consistently try new things after thoughtful discussion with supervisors. </li><li>Allow the impactful and emotional conversations the community needs to drive the content in your rundown. </li><li>Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show. </li><li>Challenge traditional ways of doing things. </li><li>Ensure all communities and viewpoints have a voice and presence in your show. </li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience. </li><li>0-1 years of news content experience. </li><li>Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must. </li><li>Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content, along with community engagement. </li><li>Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism. </li><li>Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content. </li><li>Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on your preferred social platforms. </li><li>Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines. </li><li>Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events. </li><li>ENPS and Edius system experience preferred. </li></ul><h5>Benefits: </h5>TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
