Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs computerized tomography (CT) scans and may also perform general diagnostic radiology exams. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and proper documentation while following radiation safety guidelines.

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Computed Tomography (CT) Location: Jackson, MI 49201 Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:00 PM 6:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Hours Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements Schedule: Rotating schedule (weekends and weekdays). Flexibility required. Job Summary: 
Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs computerized tomography (CT) scans and may also perform general diagnostic radiology exams. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and proper documentation while following radiation safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li> Perform CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures</li><li> Explain procedures and prepare patients for exams</li><li> Administer IV contrast (power injector use required) and monitor for reactions</li><li> Assist Radiologist with sterile and complex procedures (e.g., biopsies)</li><li> Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles</li><li> Complete documentation in PACS and RIS systems</li><li> Transport patients to and from the Emergency Department as needed</li><li> Maintain equipment and ensure adequate supply levels</li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li> Minimum 1 year of CT experience in a hospital setting</li><li> Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Radiology required</li><li> ARRT registered with advanced certification in CT (ARRT-CT) required</li><li> BLS certification (AHA) required</li><li> Peripheral IV insertion experience required (or willing to obtain training)</li><li> Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment</li><li> Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li></ul> Physical & Work Environment:<ul><li> May work in hospital or mobile unit setting</li><li> Potential exposure to radiation and contagious patients</li><li> Ability to lift/move patients and equipment as needed</li><li> Prolonged standing and walking required</li></ul>

Work Schedule and Shift Premiums<ul><li>This is a casual position. Hours per week will vary based on the needs of the department.</li><li>2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour, 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour, weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour.</li></ul><ul></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Associates Degree in an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.</li><li>Registered or registry eligible ARRT required. Registry or registry eligible in specialty fields if applicable.</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Exhibits patience and empathy in working with patients, explains procedures to put patient at ease, recognizes and meets patient needs, aids the patient into position through proper communication.</li><li>Applies knowledge to clinical setting, transfers knowledge from one area to another, appropriately identifies the patient, properly assesses the requisition, prepares room prior to exam, anticipates next step, follows through to end of exam including completion of paperwork.</li><li>Performs radiographic examinations and specialty exams according to training and competency level.</li><li>Uses gonadal shielding & tight collimation, asks females of childbearing age if they could be pregnant, advises others of protection needs when indicated, wears radiation dosimetry badges, adheres to Radiation Protection policies.</li><li>Performs basic CT examinations to cover the needs of after-hours emergency department and in-patient exams.</li><li>Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order, performs preventative maintenance on a regular, scheduled basis, contacts outside service for major malfunctions.</li><li>Maintains supplies in the room.</li><li>Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.</li><li>Perform other duties as required or assigned.</li></ul>Why Hillsdale Hospital<ul><li>Hillsdale Hospital is dedicated to excellence in healthcare community service, continued improvement, and respect for human life.
