Salary: $46,779.20 - $55,140.80 Annually Location : Marshall, TX Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 202600007 Department: Parks & Recreation Division: Golf Opening Date: 05/08/2026 Closing Date: Continuous Description DEFINITION: Oversees all operations of Oak Lawn Municipal Golf Course Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL AND RELATED FUNCTION STATEMENTS: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <ul><li>Plan, organize and direct all agronomical functions to ensure proper maintenance of golf course and grounds through proper mowing, fertilization, watering and chemical applications. </li><li>Implement a maintenance program for all golf course equipment, golf cart fleet, buildings, irrigation systems, and any other equipment deemed necessary for the care of the property. </li><li>Supervise and leads golf course staff including planning and organizing workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates leads the staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed. </li><li>Supervision of subordinate staff engaged in daily revenue and records management </li><li>Supervises and administers the overall functions of the golf course; administers personnel and budget actions; prepares preliminary budgets and staff requirements </li><li>Administers the rules and regulations established for the operation of the golf course; proposes and makes recommendations to existing rules and regulations. </li><li>Requisitions supplies and equipment; coordinates tournaments and education classes; promotes interest in the use of the golf course facilities to the community. </li><li>Monitor accounting procedures established by department and or city administration to ensure accuracy of daily cash reports </li><li>Monitors all activity on the course and ensures the safe and proper use of facilities and equipment by the public </li><li>Perform light cleanup of outdoor areas </li><li>Maintains and ensures necessary janitorial equipment, office supplies, pro shop items, retail snack items are properly stocked and stored. </li><li>Perform additional duties and projects as apparent and/or assigned. </li></ul>Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired through: <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Prefer a minimum of (3) three years experience in a progressive agronomy and turf grass management position. </li><li>Golf course management and supervisory experience </li><li>Considerable knowledge of recreational operations and maintenance work. Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel and business management. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of the methods used in the care and maintenance of golf courses. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of the care and maintenance of grass greens. </li><li>Thorough knowledge of the uses and operating methods of equipment and tools used in golf course maintenance. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of turf diseases and the chemicals and methods used to control them. </li><li>Ability to plan, assigns, and supervise the work of subordinates engaged in golf course care and maintenance. </li><li>Ability to estimate materials, supplies, and equipment needed in golf course care and maintenance. </li><li>Ability to keep records and prepare reports. </li><li>Interact effectively with staff, club member's contractors, vendors and general public. </li><li>Regular evening and weekend work required </li><li>Must have a valid Texas driver's license and driving record that meets and/or exceeds City standards </li><li>Must demonstrate effective communication skills and have a public service attitude </li></ul>Supplemental Information PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Requires occasional considerable physical exertion, pushing and pulling of objects and materials, standing, lifting objects up to fifty pounds. </li><li>Requires knowledge basic of computer functions, printer and other office and telecommunications equipment. </li><li>Requires visual perception and ability to communicate orally. </li><li>Job must be performed with or without accommodations. </li></ul>Comprehensive Benefits Package for Full-Time Employees We are proud to offer a robust and competitive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and financial security of our team.
