Your responsibilities will include: • Supervising the aquatic facility in the absence of the Recreation Supervisors • Training, motivating, disciplining, and supervising all pool personnel • Coordinating schedules, lifeguard rotations, and lifeguard breaks ensuring all shifts are covered • Attending and assisting in planning of all required staff meetings and in-service trainings • Opening and closing the register each day and making appropriate deposits • Assisting with completing accident and incident reports • Overseeing general facility maintenance and cleanliness including water balance, chemical regulation, filling pool, cleaning restrooms, office areas, pool deck, pool yard, and pool equipment • Testing water quality and maintaining proper chemical balance in the swimming pool • Maintaining inventory of chemicals and supplies • May be required to direct and instruct learn to swim classes • Monitoring and applying safety guidelines and proper rescue techniques to patrons in the aquatic facility • Administering first aid or CPR according to prescribed procedures and notifying emergency medical personnel when necessary • Assisting in the daily operation of the Municipal Pool including but not limited to opening and closing of the facility, assisting guests, providing programming information, and collecting fees. Requirements and Skills: • Safety equipment • Water safety and lifesaving principles and practices • Swimming rescue and advanced first aid techniques including CPR and AED • Learn to Swim curriculum • Principles used in the operation and mechanics of a swimming pool • Operation of pool pumps, filtering equipment, and various components • Swimming pool chemicals and test kits.
