What You’ll Do: As an HR Manager, you will play a vital leadership role within the Human Resources team, reporting to the Director of Human Resources. This position supports Goodwill’s mission by ensuring consistent, compliant, and people-centered HR practices across the organization. You’ll help foster a positive workplace culture by supporting employees and leaders, strengthening HR operations, and ensuring staff across all programs can thrive while advancing Goodwill’s community impact. Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually Schedule: BusinessOffice HoursMonday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM CT. Occasional evening and weekend availability as needed. Some travel required on occasion within approximately a 75-mile radius. Key Responsibilities: HR Operations & Leadership Support: Lead and support daily HR operations, ensuring consistent policies, efficient workflows, and strong team performance Employee Relations & Compliance: Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, including issue resolution, investigations, and guidance to leaders. Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies (FMLA, ADA, wage & hour, etc.) HR Programs & Processes: Oversee key HR programs including leave administration, accommodations, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management. Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data, supporting reporting, documentation, and system functionality Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Partner with leadership to improve HR processes, support supervisors, and drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement Your Qualifications: Education & Experience:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, with focus on employee relations, compliance, or HR operations</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) preferred</li></ul>HR Expertise & Leadership:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, multi-state experience preferred</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Experience supporting employee relations issues and investigations</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ability to provide guidance and informal leadership to team members</li></ul>Communication & Problem-Solving:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations with professionalism and sound judgment</li></ul>Organization & Technical Skills:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Excellent time management and organizational abilities</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Experience with HRIS systems (Paycor preferred)</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite</li></ul> Additional Requirements:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Must pass a background check and drug screen</li></ul> Physical Requirements & Work Environment:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assist with heavier items using team lift or equipment</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Work is primarily indoors with occasional exposure to environmental factors such as dust, allergens, and moderate noise levels</li></ul>Employee Benefits Full Time Employees: For Full-Time Employees, Goodwill offers a total rewards package of: competitive wages, bonus eligibility, annual merit increase eligibility, paid sick time, paid vacation days, 10 paid holidays annually, employee health clinics, dental, medical, HSA, vision, 401K retirement plan with company match, life insurance, student loan forgiveness eligible, employee discount, and mileage reimbursement.
