Responsibilities include:Review and approve inpatient rehabilitation admissions to ensure compliance with applicable admission criteria, CMS guidelines, and timely admissions processesMonitor utilization of the rehabilitation unit, acute care services, and outpatient therapiesConduct meetings at least monthly with each Physiatrist and the Administrative Director to share updates, review practice changes, and support complianceParticipate in Rehabilitation Department surveys, Joint Commission surveys, CARF surveys, AHCA reviews, and other activities related to rehabilitation servicesCollaborate with hospital leadership, including nursing, administration, and operational leaders, and serve as a liaison between the rehabilitation department and the hospitalProvide consistent on-site coverage to ensure continuity in leadership and medical careReport performance concerns related to physiatrists, including quality of care or disruptive behavior, through appropriate hospital leadership channelsAssist in coordinating educational programs focused on physical medicine, rehabilitation issues, and appropriate treatment modalitiesServe as a liaison among the medical staff, hospital administration, chief medical leadership, and outside agencies as neededPartner with organizational resources to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe environment for patients and staffEducate physicians and hospital staff on the role and value of rehabilitation and physiatry servicesWork with administration to oversee the growth and expansion of rehabilitation services across the marketLead strategic development of inpatient, outpatient, and consultative rehabilitation services based on regional needsDevelop educational programming for patients and professionals related to rehabilitation services and conditions commonly requiring rehab careQualificationsMD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & RehabilitationCompletion of an ACGME?accredited RoleBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and RehabilitationPermanent employment opportunityPractice setting: inpatient rehabilitationHospital-based 36-bed rehabilitation unitOpportunity to develop a consultation service in the regionOpportunity to help lead and expand an inpatient rehabilitation service lineCollaborative, multidisciplinary team environmentPalm Beach County market with coverage across three hospitals in close proximityMedical Director ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Director plays a key leadership role in supporting regulatory compliance, physician collaboration, program development, education, and growth of inpatient rehabilitation services.
