The Coordinator works under the direction of the assigned Catholic Priest or Chaplain and supports the Chaplain Corps in delivering approved Catholic education programs.</p><h2><strong>Key Duties:</strong></h2><ul><li><p>Coordinate Catholic religious education programs for children, youth, and adults</p></li><li><p>Support sacramental preparation, RCIA, and youth programs</p></li><li><p>Maintain class rosters, attendance, and basic program records</p></li><li><p>Recruit, support, and coordinate volunteers</p></li><li><p>Order and manage religious education materials and supplies</p></li><li><p>Prepare announcements and program information with Chaplain approval</p></li><li><p>Support Vacation Bible School and special religious events</p></li></ul><h2><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li><p>High school diploma or GED</p></li><li><p>Basic Catechist certification or theology/religious studies coursework</p></li><li><p>Practicing Catholic in good standing</p></li><li><p>At least 2 years of experience in a church or chapel education program</p></li></ul><p>Powered by JazzHR</p>

<h2><u><strong>Overview</strong></u></h2><p>The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator serves as a key support resource to the Chaplain Corps at Beale Air Force Base. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing a comprehensive Catholic Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation program for children, youth, and adults within the base Catholic community. The Coordinator works closely with the assigned Catholic Priest/Chaplain and chapel staff to ensure all programs align with Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) requirements.</p><h2><u><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></u></h2><h3><strong>Program Management</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Develop, coordinate, and oversee Catholic Religious Education programs for all age groups</p></li><li><p>Manage sacramental preparation programs, RCIA, youth ministry, adult faith formation, and special religious events</p></li><li><p>Prepare annual Religious Education needs assessments, calendars, and budget proposals</p></li><li><p>Ensure programs align with AMS and Air Force Chaplain Corps guidance</p></li></ul><h3><strong>Volunteer & Teacher Coordination</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Recruit, train, supervise, and support RE teachers and volunteers</p></li><li><p>Ensure all volunteers working with minors complete required background checks</p></li><li><p>Conduct teacher training sessions prior to program start and quarterly thereafter</p></li><li><p>Recognize volunteers during Chaplain Corps Volunteer Appreciation events</p></li></ul><h3><strong>Administrative Duties</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Maintain accurate attendance records, rosters, and electronic databases</p></li><li><p>Prepare and submit reports, budgets, and required documentation on time</p></li><li><p>Develop and distribute publicity materials with chaplain approval</p></li><li><p>Coordinate facility requests, scheduling, and curriculum procurement</p></li><li><p>Maintain continuity files and shared digital records</p></li></ul><h2><u><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></u></h2><ul><li><p>Minimum age: 18 years</p></li><li><p>High school diploma or GED required (Associate degree in education preferred)</p></li><li><p>Basic Catechist Certification or documented coursework in theology or religious studies</p></li><li><p>Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church</p></li><li><p>Minimum two years’ experience in religious education, parish ministry, or children’s church programs</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)</p></li></ul><p>Powered by JazzHR</p>
