The Nurse Advocate will play an active role with each patient from the first point of patient program enrollment and throughout treatment to facilitate a timely and successful patient experience.A typical day in the life of a Nurse Advocate will include the following:The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Serve as a consistent resource throughout the continuum of program services, which includes identifying barriers to therapy and helping the patient understand and navigate such barriers.</li><li>Serve as an educator who possesses knowledge and practical experience about clinical treatments and the strong emotions and financial implications associated with a new diagnosis, living with a chronic medical condition or life-threatening condition.</li></ul>Have primary goals that include:<ul><li>Enable patients by providing them with information and education about:</li><li>their prescribed therapy and course of treatment, fairly balanced with benefits and known side effects per manufacturer product information</li><li>proper administration and dosing of prescribed therapy</li><li>calling and working with the patient's insurance payer to determine coverage benefits, anticipated out-of-pocket costs associated with their therapy and resources for financial assistance, where applicable based upon needs communicated by the patient</li><li>support to help better manage the stress involved in their diagnosis.</li><li>Empower the patient to participate in their personal care process by triaging the patient to support for other non-program needs such as social or other intervention programs.</li><li>Reporting of Adverse Events/ Product Complaint received in accordance with SOP and good manufacturer practices</li><li>Other duties as assigned by management</li></ul>This job might be for you if (must have requirements of the role):Successful candidates possess the following personal attributes:<ul><li>Clinical nursing experience with demonstrated competence in educating and managing patients with a new diagnosis or chronic medical condition</li><li>Knowledge about clinical aspects of the relevant disease state, including protocol therapy and common prescribing algorithms</li><li>General computer skills</li><li>Able to adapt to changing work assignments</li><li>Be service oriented and anticipate, recognize and meet the needs of others</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills required, with specific ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and physicians</li><li>Ability to multitask effectively</li><li>Ability to recognize emotions and their effects</li><li>Sureness about self-worth and capabilities</li><li>Manage disruptive impulses</li><li>Maintain standards of honesty and integrity</li><li>Take responsibility for performance</li><li>Be adaptable and handle change with flexibility</li><li>Be innovative and open to new ideas</li><li>Achievement driven; constantly striving to improve or to meet a standard of excellence</li><li>Align with the goals of the group or organization and communicate effectively within the group</li><li>Ready to take initiative and act on opportunities</li><li>Be optimistic and pursue goals persistently despite obstacles and setbacks</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Must have active RN licensure in current state of practice.</li><li>2-3 years of nursing experience with relevant disease state experience preferred.</li><li>Nurseline triage, Call Center Utilization Management, Call Center Case Management, a plus.</li><li>Case management or Clinical Trial Nurse experience, a plus.</li><li>Bachelor's degree preferred.</li><li>We are located in Jeffersonville, IN. PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate. This rate is applied after 40 trips per month (valued at $678.60 per year).</li><li>Remote work eligibility is subject to all work from home criteria met and based on business need.</li></ul>Physical Demands & Work Environment:<ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.</li><li>This position requires our nurses to be available for inbound phone calls as a part of their role and make outbound calls as necessary.</li><li>Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.</li><li>Our nurses work a rotating schedule between the hours of 8 am to 11 pm Monday-Friday.</li><li>This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.</li><li>Due to investment in program specific training, candidates are expected to maintain role for a minimum of 6 months, or within a client-facing role, prior to being considered eligible for lateral or promotion level move. In this role responsibilities include, but not limited to, creating the user interface design specifications as well as the visual designs of key software initiatives. Analyze and organize complex content structure though collaboration with our various teams.
