Under the direction of the Associate General Counsel, Director of Litigation Management, Malpractice; and the SVP & Senior Counsel for Malpractice Insurance Administration, the Associate General Counsel will be working closely with the primary client Executive Vice President and Vice Dean / Chief Financial Officer, the Insurance Department, outside Third Party Administrator and Risk Management, and will have the following responsibilities: Assume primary responsibility for the legal management and resolution of approximately 100+ high value claims assigned in various state and federal jurisdictions. Under the direction of the Associate General Counsel, Director of Litigation Management, Malpractice; and the SVP & Senior Counsel for Malpractice Insurance Administration, the primary responsibility of this role is to provide competent, timely and proactive legal advice in the daily handling and management of medical malpractice cases and claims, which are insured under the NYU Langone Hospitals Malpractice Insurance Program.
