For the DWSRF, RIDOH is the designated lead agency responsible for establishing assistance priorities; assisting in development of the Intended Use Plan; establishing project priority lists (PPL); determining project eligibility; performing technical project reviews; monitoring construction; approval or denial of payment; and determining and implementing the Technical Assistance, Local Assistance, and State Program Management set-aside programs. The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) Center for Drinking Water Quality's Public Drinking Water Program protects and promotes the health and safety of Rhode Islanders by ensuring the quality of the State's public drinking water supplies for use by Rhode Island households, businesses, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, restaurants, industry, and firefighting and emergency response services.
