Candidate must be able to perform field investigation and construction oversight that could potentially require the following: Performing strenuous field work under a variety of site and adverse weather conditions; standing, crouching and sitting to facilitate operation of the equipment and collecting samples; moving earth via shovels or hand augers; lifting of pumps, other remediation equipment, cases containing equipment, sample coolers and other items weighing between 1 and 50 pounds; and potential exposure to natural (e.g., poison ivy), physical and chemical hazards. Responsibilities: Basic understanding of the following areas of civil engineering: site grading and earthworks design, soil mechanics, hydrology, hydraulics, pumps and piping systems, geochemistry, site closure, cover designs using soil and/or geosynthetics, cost estimation, sampling, environmental regulations, remediation, and environmental investigations and remediation.
