Responsibilities include obtaining histories, performing examinations, ordering and interpreting appropriate tests, developing treatment plans, providing patient education, and determining when a higher level of care is needed. Assess and treat patients with nonemergency illnesses and injuries, including rashes, respiratory symptoms, minor musculoskeletal injuries, and mild-to-moderate asthma.
