How you will make an impact: Assisting with management of the day-to-day litigation caseload, including managing the retention of outside counsel, legal discovery, data collection, response deadlines, and doing so with multiple parties across multiple time zones; Manage and execute timely delivery of assigned legal tasks or services; Take legal briefs and notes; prepare correspondence, reports and datasheets; Process and manage the litigation workflow and juggle priorities efficiently; Setting up and inputting new electronic files in compliance with the current department policies utilizing the company's various systems and electronic document software system; Report claims to insurance company and all relevant coverage details; Assists in gathering information to respond to demand letters, lawsuits, and discovery requests; Assists in review of invoices from outside counsel and vendors; Responsible for preparing, reviewing, editing and proofreading legal documents, including composing responses to discovery for litigation under attorney direction by gathering case evidence and documentation by searching various internal databases and systems; E-Discovery: Oversee the collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI); Utilize e-Discovery tools (Reveal and/or Logikcull) and software to manage large volumes of data; Collaborate with IT professionals to ensure proper data preservation and collection; Assist in developing and implementing e-Discovery strategies and best practices; Enhances attorney's effectiveness by monitoring case progress; alerting attorney of issues requiring his/her attention; maintaining contact with business units, claims managers, adjusters, and opposing counsel; contributing information to the team case review; completing special projects; providing secretarial support; Assists with maintenance and verification of legal spend tracking and reporting; Will have a high degree of responsibility for case and claims management and assisting with the implementation of any new processes concerning the same; Keeps business partners informed by maintaining contact; communicating matter progress; Fostering professional, cooperative and supportive relationships with peers, superiors and clients; Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications; Accomplishes company and department mission(s) by assisting in achieving related results as needed; completes other paralegal and administrative tasks delegated by lawyers and paralegals; How you will grab our attention: Must have a knowledge of various law practices, legal processes and terms, as some of the responsibilities include discovery preparation and other legal documentation; Ability to work independently and remotely, as well as to function as part of an effective team is required; Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills; strong writing skills; Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously; Ability to interact effectively with all levels of company personnel and a variety of external parties; Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to maintain confidential information; This role is technology-intensive. The Litigation Paralegal principally works in tandem with a litigation attorney, but may support any member of the litigation team as needed, participating in all phases of the litigation process, maintaining organized files, conducting document searches and research.
