The hospital is a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center certified by the Florida Department of Health, verified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, certified by the Joint Commission as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, and one of five American Burn Association–verified Burn Centers in the state. The Trauma OR Registered Nurse assumes full responsibility and accountability for an assigned group of patients throughout a designated shift, delivering care through the nursing process, therapeutic use of self, appropriate use of instrumentation and the environment, and collaboration with the broader care team.
