Communicates, as appropriate, with the patients, obstetric and maternal-fetal medicine care providers, obstetric office staff, perinatal sonographers, genetic counselors, and labor and delivery staff, changes in a patient’s clinical condition and testing results. In collaboration with the perinatologists and the obstetricians, the MFM Nurse Navigator uses assessment, planning and intervention skills to evaluate the patient’s clinical condition, including the use of patient history, diagnostic test results and symptomology during pregnancy.
