Overview:
The Biosciences Division at SRI International has an opening for a Research Associate I in the Center for Macromolecular Bioscience in Harrisonburg, VA. We seek motivated scientists with backgrounds in biotechnology, chemical biology, molecular and cellular biology or related fields. The candidate should be driven to contribute intellectually within a team environment. SRI is advancing novel therapeutics and diagnostics in oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Perform laboratory experiments as directed by senior scientists.</li><li>Collaborate with scientists from other disciplines (e.g., chemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, neuroscience and immunology) in cross-divisional teams.</li><li>Keep a detailed laboratory notebook and present their progress to the group.</li><li>Complete necessary training classes and maintain a safe working environment.</li><li>Learn and abide by SRI’s intellectual property guidelines.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or similar discipline.</li><li>Experience with mammalian tissue culture, PCR, and/or animal handling is a plus but not required.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.</li></ul>The salary range is: $44,464-$58,912. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Specialty Specific Responsibilities Transplant RN Position Summary: Provides nursing care from initial patient contact through high dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell rescue to follow-up care post stem cell rescue Key Responsibilities (Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.): Manages symptoms/toxicities/health abnormalities related to the intense high dose therapy, stem cell rescue and rehabilitation following rescue in collaboration with transplant physician and/ supervisor.

Overview:
Under minimal supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide for assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Education/Training – Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
