They actively participate in hiring decisions, facilitate staff training, enforce policies, manage crises, foster student development, and ensure the safety and security of the community. Additionally, they collaborate with the Area Coordinator and other staff to uphold the Code of Student Conduct, manage occupancy-related administrative tasks, engage with residents, and contribute to the development and implementation of residential curricular approaches.Crafted to Cultivate Exceptional Skills:The Hall Coordinator role embodies a practitioner-scholar approach, offering guidance and support in vital areas such as self-efficacy, inclusive excellence, and professional growth. Utilizing platforms such as StarRez and Roompact, Hall Coordinators establish meaningful connections with residents, nurturing a positive and inclusive living environment. They also contribute significantly to instructional efforts by teaching first-year transition and student leadership courses for credit.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide direct oversight and mentorship to a diverse team, including professional live-in staff, graduate assistant hall directors, resident assistants, community development educators, and front desk/customer service operations.</li><li>Actively participate in hiring decisions and facilitate comprehensive staff training sessions.</li><li>Collaborate closely with the Area Coordinator to ensure staff adherence to policies, embrace community development principles, and uphold safety and security standards within the community.</li><li>Manage conduct situations, address emergencies, and serve as the primary point of contact for student conflict resolution and mediation.</li><li>Oversee all occupancy-related administrative tasks for assigned residence halls, including key management, room assignments, facility maintenance coordination, and budget management.</li><li>Maintain clear communication with students, families, and staff regarding administrative processes and promptly address facility-related issues.</li><li>Engage with residents, offer academic support, and facilitate referrals for mental health and conduct issues.</li><li>Serve as instructors in UC 110 courses affiliated with academic learning communities and a for-credit student leadership development course.</li><li>Provide instruction and develop experiential learning experiences related to career readiness for graduate assistant residence hall directors enrolled in the Student Affairs/Higher Education masters program.</li><li>Collaborate with departmental and divisional partners to develop and implement an intentionally sequenced developmentally appropriate residential curriculum and/or academic initiatives.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Masters degree by September 1 of appointment year.</li><li>Valid drivers license.</li><li>Ability to adapt to change, assemble, analyze, and present data, learn and retain information, multitask, plan, organize, and implement projects in a timely manner, read English, understand and follow verbal and written instructions, work independently and collaboratively, work carefully and politely around others, and demonstrate high ethical standards, integrity, professionalism, politeness, and courteousness.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal organizational planning, teambuilding, and problem-solving skills, excellent leadership skills, and excellent public speaking skills.</li><li>Experience and knowledge in job-related programs, experience in an educational environment, and the ability to travel some overnight travel when required.</li><li>A professional demeanor, high energy, dynamic personality, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.</li><li>Proven supervisory skills and proven verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Willingness to interact with students and work extended hours during events and peak seasons when required.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with a diverse community.</li></ul>Qualifications & Disclaimer:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
