Summary :Programs and tends one or more industrial robotic welders to weld metal workpieces to specifications on a production basis by performing the following duties. 
  Essential Duties & Responsibilities :Programs robotic welder(s) by manipulating key pad to control movements of robot torch and positioner. Determines and programs for weld sequences. Programs individual welds. Tests program to verify weld points and part clearance. 
  
Collaborates with Engineering Department and other operators regarding fixtures and robot capabilities.

Operates robotic welder(s) by continually loading components onto fixture, operating controls and adjusting machine, and monitoring robot functions. Performs manual production welding processes. 
  
Performs first-piece and in-process inspection by checking parts per blueprint using calipers and tape measure. Inspects according to C=0 chart. Completes inspection form. 
  
Trains robot operators in basic robotic welder operation and setup. 
  
Performs routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on robot(s) as required. Completes maintenance log. 
  
Cleans and scrapes parts using hand-held grinder and scraper. 
  
Mig welds to add welds or touch-up parts. Mig welds on production jobs as time permits. 
  
Performs other duties as assigned. 
  
  Supervisory Duties :The position may require occasional supervisory responsibility in the absence of Teamleader and/or for relaying general information.

Ability to speak effectively with vendors and employees of the organization. 
  Math Skills :Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 
  Reasoning Skills :Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Summary Determines production part candidates for robotic welding application. Designs fixtures, programs robot software, and works with internal and external resources to increase efficiency, safety, and quality of robotically welded parts by performing the following duties. Duties<ul><li>Determines, with input from other sources, which products are suitable candidates for robotic welding application.</li><li>Acts as direct liaison between management and personnel who operate and care for all robotic equipment.</li><li>Provides estimates on fixture design time and production time requirements during quotation process for new parts.</li><li>Reviews blueprint to determine customer requirements and key characteristics of robotically welded parts or assemblies. Confers with customer or other department members to resolve questions concerning design of fixture or end use of part.</li><li>Designs robotic fixtures and some tack fixtures as required. Track progress of robotic fixtures through production process. Builds fixtures as necessary. Works with Programmers and Operators on production floor to improve efficiency, provide tooling, improve existing fixtures.</li><li>Utilizes Moto-Sim or other off-line programming software to expedite programming process.</li><li>Works with vendors and service personnel on maintenance issues, purchase of new robot cells, or addition of components to existing cells.</li><li>Maintains working knowledge of production robotic equipment and can advise/train production personnel in programming and use of equipment.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be proficient in MasterCam and Creo or Solidworks software and have working understanding of metal fabrication and machining processes. Prefer five years machining center work experience and 2-3 years programming. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver's license required for travel to customer facilities and/or training.
