The Respiratory Care Practitioner's duties include, but are not limited to: Job responsibilites: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation Operation, maintenance and management of mechanical ventilators Patient transportation (internal and external) Drawing blood for arterial blood gas analysis and interruption Aerolized drug administration Oxygen therapy/humidity therapy Continuous positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP/BiPAP) Pulse oximetry Capnography (side stream and main stream) Specialized pulmonary function testing Intermittent positive pressure ventilation (1PPB) Incentive spirometry Chest physiotherapy, airway clearance techniques and alternative airway maneuvers Patient assessment Participate in floor round monitoring Operation of all equipment in accordance with department policy Quality control of all equipment Active participation in the departments Quality Assurance program Equipment disinfection Participation in in-service education program Apnea monitoring Communication skills Meter dose inhaler medication administration Any other assignment as delegated by Supervisor.
