In addition to DOT highway work,they self-perform a broad range of heavy civil services, including mass earthwork, underground utilities, site development, structures, and infrastructure improvements for both public agencies and private clients.This role supports a strategic growth initiative focused on expanding DOT highway and white paving / concrete paving operations in Wyoming, Nebraska, and surrounding regions.About the PositionThe company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Manager – DOT Heavy Highway to lead complex transportation projects from preconstruction through closeout. This position is ideal for a project manager with strong experience in white paving / concrete paving, DOT work, and federally funded transportation contracts.This is a highly visible leadership role offering autonomy, long-term stability, and a clear path for continued advancement within a growing heavy civil organization.Projects primarily include:<ul><li>DOT heavy highway construction</li><li>White paving / concrete paving operations</li><li>Asphalt paving and roadway rehabilitation</li><li>Earthwork, grading, and drainage for transportation corridors</li><li>Federally funded and state DOT contracts</li></ul>Work is performed in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment where strong field leadership, planning discipline, and production efficiency are critical to success.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead planning, execution, and closeout of DOT heavy highway projects</li><li>Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to develop accurate schedules and cost forecasts</li><li>Manage project financials including budgets, cost tracking, rentals, and margin performance</li><li>Oversee and support Superintendents to ensure safe and efficient field execution</li><li>Review QC/QA data related to materials, production, and paving operations</li><li>Coordinate with DOT representatives, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors</li><li>Identify project risks early and implement corrective actions</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and DOT requirements</li><li>Support pursuit of future work through client engagement and labor planning</li></ul>RequirementsEducation<ul><li>Bachelor's degree
 in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field</li><li>Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in heavy highway construction</li><li>Proven experience managing DOT and federally funded transportation contracts</li></ul>Project Experience<ul><li>DOT heavy highway projects ($2MM+)</li><li>White paving / concrete paving operations</li><li>Asphalt paving, roadway rehabilitation, and associated earthwork and drainage</li></ul>Certifications & Technical Skills<ul><li>PMP preferred</li><li>Proficiency with HCSS, Procore, Bluebeam, and other project management tools</li><li>Strong understanding of materials, production standards, and DOT specifications</li></ul><ul><li>Experience collaborating with estimating teams and supporting preconstruction planning</li><li>Willingness to travel to regional or remote job sites in Wyoming and/or Nebraska</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Base salary: $135,000–$165,000 (commensurate with experience)</li><li>Performance-based bonus structure</li><li>Health, dental, vision, and life insurance</li><li>401(k) with strong employer match and profit-sharing component</li><li>Paid holidays and paid time off</li><li>Company truck with fuel card or vehicle allowance (per policy)</li><li>Modern tools and technology to support project execution and collaboration</li><li>Weekly Per Diem: $700-$900</li></ul>
