Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Public Safety Operations Manager, Shift Supervisor or designee, this position performs all duties and responsibilities related to the day-to-day protection and security of Southcoast Health System (SHS) and Southcoast Hospitals Group (SHG) assets and information as well as the safety of all persons on hospital/SHS property. The incumbent Officer proactively guards against fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry to SHG grounds and/or buildings while controlling access points.

Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associates degree preferred.</li><li>Prior military, security, corrections, police, or relevant experience a plus.</li><li>May require obtaining Special Police/Constable powers within a designated municipality.</li><li>Over three months up to and including one year of experience is required.</li><li>A valid Drivers License is required.</li><li>Must have, or have the ability to obtain within a six month to one-year period, a Massachusetts Fire Arms Identification Card, and License to Carry Firearms (Pistol Permit).</li><li>Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) De-Escalation Training; OC Pepper (OCAT), Handcuffing (PATH), Baton (PPBT) education and training within 120 days of hire.</li><li> BLS, CPR and First Responder certification required within 120 days of hire.</li><li>Is eligible to obtain appointment as a special police officer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under MGL c.22C Section 63 or as a New Bedford Special Police Officer under city/NBPD requirements.</li><li>Must obtain International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification within one year of appointment.</li><li>Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.  </li><li>Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience. </li></ul>

Negotiate change orders with subcontractors and suppliers.</li><li>Ensure the accuracy of the budget and final project cost at closeout.</li><li>Obtain refunds for any deposits made during construction.</li><li>Obtain the release of any bonds posted during construction by NRP or any subcontractor.</li></ul>Quality<ul><li>Ensure quality issues are documented and addressed in writing with subcontractors.</li><li>Maintain strict adherence to the quality standards.</li><li>Create project specific contract specifications and scopes of work.</li><li>Perform periodic site visits to ensure compliance will construction documents, commitments, and timeline.</li><li>Ensure third party consultants and design team provide appropriate site inspections and report compliance with project documents.</li><li>Review testing reports and ensure appropriate threshold inspections are documented for compliance with AHJ and project documents.</li><li>Responsible to review reports and document closure to any issues identified by consultants or inspectors.</li><li>Identify and ensure all warranty documents are obtained and conform to various contract requirements and project specifications.</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>Coordinate with the Operations Manager, Project Superintendent and Scheduling Department to prepare a project construction schedule and submit to Senior Management for approval.</li><li>Verify schedule assumptions during scope reviews with subcontractors.</li><li>Clearly document schedule requirements within subcontracts and purchase orders.</li><li>Review and update construction schedule with Project Superintendent and Scheduling Department weekly.</li><li>Identify and report schedule impacts/challenges that have the potential to delay the project to senior management and report appropriately in weekly and monthly meetings with internal and external parties.</li><li>Ensure schedule delays are documented and addressed in writing with subcontractors.</li><li>Monitor the process to obtain certificates of occupancy within project timeline.</li><li>Ensure building turn schedules are accurately reported within company systems and per owner contract provisions.
