p style="margin:0in;font-family:'calibri';font-size:11pt">POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental Health and Safety Officer is responsible for working with and supporting members of local Operating Unit leadership teams, Ministry Facilities Planning and Operations, Construction, Regulatory Compliance team members, and other OSF team members as appropriate, to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Environment of Care and Life Safety programs and to ensure compliance with regulatory and OSF requirements. The EHS Technician works closely with employees, supervisors, and leadership to identify workplace hazards, investigate incidents, conduct training, and support initiatives that reduce risk and protect employees, facilities, and the environment. This role is fast-paced and physically active, requiring regular lifting, bending, pushing and pulling, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.
This role involves supporting safety initiatives, conducting inspections/ and or audits, leading training sessions, and contributing to accident/ incident investigations under the guidance of the Safety Manager. Responds to Emergency situations, such as medical, fire, weather, hazardous material, and security related incidents and takes appropriate actions, as stated in Ollies policy.
Leveraging the unique qualities of its facilities, the company serves customers in a wide range of consumer and commercial products in the Health, Home & Beauty; Food & Beverage; Industry & Agriculture; Essential Ingredients; and Renewable Fuels markets. Coordinates or assists other departments in coordinating equipment inspections such as fall protection, lifting/jacking equipment, and electrical PPE such as gloves and hot sticks on the proper frequency.
