<div align="left"><div>The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Early Childhood Education Teacher for Child's Way our daycare center for medically fragile children.   Child's Way is open from 6:30am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday.  This full-time position works Monday through Friday, eight hour shifts per week.  No weekends, nights, or holidays.  Under the supervision of the Director of Child's Way, the Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child enrolled in accordance with DHS, Head Start, and Keystone Stars Standards. Completes daily set-up and breakdown of child care areas. Appropriately prepares other areas of the facility for use or closing by ensuring that appliances, equipment, and lights have been activated or deactivated as per protocol. Follows proper sanitizing and disinfecting procedures for all toys and materials. In the absence of the Service Aid, may be assigned some duties of the Service Aid which may be shared with the nursing staff.</li><li>Maintains safety in the facility. Appropriately supervises children, being cognizant of their whereabouts, the environment, and special safety needs. Reports safety hazards within and outside of the building. Maintains an awareness of building security by properly utilizing security measures and reporting presence of strangers on the property. Removes children from areas or situations that may compromise their safety.</li><li>Provides support to the Director of Child's Way. Creates weekly lesson plans and individualized goals aligned to appropriate state standards and curriculum materials. Facilitates play, completes daily routines, and implements scheduled activities with children. Engages children in safe, developmentally appropriate play and activities. Prepares appropriate materials and equipment. Anticipates outdoor activities by preparing playground or strollers for children's use. Participates in scheduled activities by singing, dancing, or demonstrating other appropriate actions. Documents developmental growth, reporting assessment data through center specified tools.</li><li>Works cooperatively with nursing staff to execute the plan of care and provide individualized activities that will meet the child's educational and medical needs.</li><li>Provides support to therapists providing physician-ordered and early intervention services. Assists in preparing appropriate area and equipment as requested by therapist. Supports interventions as directed during child's session; reinforces child's attempts to incorporate interventions after therapies.</li><li>Communicates data via written and verbal methods. Reports and records all pertinent information about the child and family in the appropriate documentation record. Communicates pertinent information to the Director of Child's Way, nurse, or therapist. Informs supervisor or appropriate staff member about building and equipment issues.</li><li>Engages in effective and positive interactions with others. Responds to children and families by respecting their individuality. Communicates clearly, accurately and appropriately in interactions with children and adults. Maintains confidentiality and respects the privacy of all children, families, and staff.</li><li>Performs related tasks as requested by the Director of Child's Way. Makes suggestions for improvement as appropriate. Organizes and cleans assigned area upon completion of task(s).</li><li>Designs and maintains a self-development plan. Improves skills by requesting patient or job assignments; utilizes other professional staff as a resource to enhance knowledge base. Completes requisite training in safety, fire, infection control, security, child care, and information systems. Completes 15 hours of New Staff Orientation and 6 hours of Health and Safety Basics training. Completes at least 18 hours of additional Professional Development each year as required to meet Keystone Stars Standards.
