They deliver service with courtesy, safety, and dependability and to ensure each customer has a positive experience. Here at VDCI, we have a strong focus on preventing the spread of diseases through mosquito control. We complete mosquito surveillance and preventative services, as well as large-scale spraying.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Routinely inspect control zones for potential mosquito breeding habitat and the presence of mosquito larvae by visual inspection and "dipping"</li><li>Assess each inspection site and utilize the appropriate control techniques, such as: no action, source reduction, biological control, public education and chemical control (including the application of larvicides and/ adulticides at the labeled application rates)</li><li>May place and retrieve monitoring devices for accessing mosquito populations</li><li>Accurately record all findings and control activities on the appropriate log sheet and GPS unit, and enter data into VDCI's database as required by the contract</li><li>Be thoroughly familiar with all applicable chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and handle/apply all chemicals according to label specifications</li><li>Know and follow proper safety and spill procedures at all times, and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regularly.</li><li>Communicate respectfully, honestly, and knowledgeably to residents at all times during service request inspections, routine larvicide activities, or during any other public relations activities</li><li>Know and follow the proper and safe operations of all equipment used,</li><li>Mix pesticides & fill sprayers accurately as needed, and follow all required safety precautions for the application of products</li><li>React to change promptly and effectively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned.</li><li>Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in both internal and external settings.</li></ul>Essential Job Functions:<ul><li>Comfortable with self-directed working conditions after a training period</li><li>Work is regularly performed outdoors and may include exposure to potentially hazardous situations and substances such as weather conditions, challenging and uneven/unstable terrain, pesticides, dust and airborne particulates, excessive noise, biting insects, hazardous plants, and wild and domestic animals.</li><li>Must be capable of lifting and using items such as chemical containers and application equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Safely operate a motor vehicle and make sure it and all other equipment is kept clean.</li></ul>What do you need?<ul><li>Demonstrated attention to detail</li><li>Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in the area of pest control</li><li>High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.</li><li>Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Safely assemble control valves from repair order instructions, customer test-report/specification sheets, and OEM IOM manuals; this includes performing all calibration of all positioners and or controllers. Tag, seal, and prepare products for shipping while maintaining pride in workmanship including priming and painting products while adhering to all safety rules including proper clean-up and paint waste disposal.

Essential Duties<ul><li>Perform disassembly and assembly of new control valves including:</li><li>Read, interpret, and respond accordingly to sales order and customer data sheet information</li><li>Safely disassemble valves and parts including various types of valves such as:</li><li>Sliding stem valves</li><li>Rotary ball valves</li><li>Rotary butterfly valves</li><li>High performance rotary butterfly valves</li><li>Various bolted bonnet gate, globe, and check valves</li><li>Soft-seated ball valves</li><li>Various pressure globe, and rotary valves</li><li>Safely disassemble actuators and parts including various types of actuators such as:</li><li>Double acting pneumatic sliding stem piston actuators</li><li>Double acting pneumatic rotary piston actuators</li><li>Single acting sliding stem spring and diaphragm actuators</li><li>Single acting rotary spring and diaphragm actuators</li><li>Evaluate parts and maintain material awareness including:</li><li>Mark parts correctly and maintain organization and segregation</li><li>Perform chemical solvent cleaning when needed</li><li>Perform inspection of parts being used in assembly and ensure critical dimension requirements are being met where required</li><li>Complete all quality control sheets including date, sign-off, status, etc.</li><li>Understand all special requirements needed for the assembly while maintaining compliance with all factories and or customer requirements.</li><li>Safely and accurately perform some machining processes:</li><li>Use drill press or pneumatic tools for drilling and pinning stems for valve plugs</li><li>Use hand grinder for polishing some flange and sealing surfaces</li><li>Safely assemble control valves from repair order instructions, customer test-report/specification sheets, and OEM IOM manuals; this includes performing all calibration of all positioners and or controllers.</li><li>Install stem packing</li><li>Safely and accurately attaches actuators to valves</li><li>Sets correct valve travel</li><li>Sets correct bench set on actuator</li><li>Can accurately and efficiently tube up positioners and controllers to the actuator along with any other accessories on the assembly</li><li>Safely test control valves according to applicable Code test requirements while applying and utilizing manufacturer's manuals using compressed air, water, and nitrogen. Accurate and thorough completion of test reports with all required detail is essential.</li><li>Ability to safely and accurately tube up, calibrate and troubleshoot various pneumatic and digital</li></ul>positioners and controllers as per factory and or customer spec sheets including but not limited to the following:<ul><li>Fisher 3582 and 3582I sliding stem positioners</li><li>Fisher 3610J, 3610JP, 3620, 3620JP rotary positioners</li><li>DVC6200 positioner</li><li>DVC2000 positioner</li><li>Fisher C1P pressure controller</li><li>Fisher 2500 pneumatic level controller</li><li>Perform disassembly and assembly of new regulators and relief valves including:</li><li>Direct operated regulators</li><li>Pilot operated regulators</li><li>Read, interpret, and respond accordingly to sales order and customer data sheet information and or any special customer requirements</li><li>Safely and accurately do spring, orifice, and body changes to various types of regulators and relief valves.</li><li>Safely and accurately test all regulators and relief valves</li><li>Safely and accurately set regulators and relief valves to desired set point</li><li>Complete all quality control sheets including date, sign-off, status, etc.</li><li>Tag, seal, and prepare products for shipping while maintaining pride in workmanship including priming and painting products while adhering to all safety rules including proper clean-up and paint waste disposal.
