You will represent Chenega and our federal clients with professionalism while contributing directly to the safety and continuity of vital operations.This position is on-site in Artesia, NM. <h4>Responsibilities</h4> <ul><li>Provide armed protective services for personnel, assets, and facilities in accordance with federal, contract, and SSBU security requirements.</li><li>Control access points, screen personnel and vehicles, and conduct patrols to detect and deter threats.</li><li>Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations.</li><li>Enforce laws, regulations, and site-specific policies with professionalism and discretion.</li><li>Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and required documentation.</li><li>Operate as part of a disciplined team while remaining alert, calm, and decisive in dynamic environments.</li></ul><h4>Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Minimum High School Diploma or GED.  </li><li>Must be at least 21 years of age.  </li><li>Preferred, but not required: Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer - armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard), or associate's degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.    </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.  </li></ul> Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  <ul><li>Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.   </li></ul>

The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for station and personnel management to include but not limited to overseeing daily operations at the fire station, scheduling, crew assignments, equipment maintenance, regular training drills, exercises, and ensuring compliance with department policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for monitoring the performance of firefighters, providing feedback, addressing disciplinary issues, promoting professional development, assuring adequate documentation of emergency responses, and coordinating with law enforcement and other fire and EMS departments at emergency scenes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 
The shift Lieutenant shall be a sworn firefighting position. Upon acceptance of this position, the selected applicant shall pass an NFPA 1583 medical screening physical. The shift Lieutenant will be subject to annual physical fitness assessments and NFPA 1583 medical screening physicals. The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for commanding emergency operations, including but not limited to assuming leadership on fire scenes, directing firefighting tactics, assigning tasks to crew members, and making rapid decisions to ensure the safety of all involved. The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for station and personnel management to include but not limited to overseeing daily operations at the fire station, scheduling, crew assignments, equipment maintenance, regular training drills, exercises, and ensuring compliance with department policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for pre-fire plans, public education, fire investigations, or other technical-related duties assigned by the Fire Chief or designee. The Shift Lieutenant shall be responsible for monitoring the performance of firefighters, providing feedback, addressing disciplinary issues, promoting professional development, assuring adequate documentation of emergency responses, and coordinating with law enforcement and other fire and EMS departments at emergency scenes. This position will work a 48 hour on-duty/96 hour off-duty rotating schedule. Employees must perform all duties with minimal supervision.
