Also desirable: Strong knowledge of and experience with transmission protection devices such as or similar to: carrier communication equipment, electro-mechanical and microprocessor relays, electrical protection principles and theories, electronic and computer controlled systems and devices, computer networking techniques and methods, National Electrical and National Electrical Safety Codes, relay and control operational and safety procedures, designing testing systems and equipment, strong organizational skills, utilizing interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers, supervisor, etc. Primary duties of the Test Technician include but are not limited to perform the following tests - power factor insulation testing, breaker timing testing, analyze and interpret test results and present findings for review; basic protection relay testing; technical calculations for test applications.
