<div>Overview:</div><div>The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives. </div><div>The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sorter/Processor to perform a variety of functions in order to assist in the operation of the sorting room or production area of a Production Store.  This is a full time, temporary, 90 day position. </div><div>Duties:</div><ul><li>Assist as required with sorting room operations.</li><li>Cross train in all sorting room functions under the guidance of the Sorting Room Supervisor.</li><li>Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of sorting room area.</li><li>Maintain a clean and clutter free work area.</li><li>Responsible for baling as needed.</li><li>This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries; an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).</li><li>Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Sorter:</div><ul><li>Process and sort donations by inspecting and separating saleable from unsaleable items.</li><li>Deliver a minimum of 300 store quality garments per hour.</li><li>Categorize and box seasonal clothing, bric, and shoes.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Hanger/Tagger:</div><ul><li>Process, hang, and tag all sorted merchandise.</li><li>Deliver a minimum of 225 hung garments per hour.</li><li>Ensure clothes are hung according to policy and on proper hanger.</li><li>Ensure that tag is properly placed on garment according to Salvation Army policy</li></ul><div> </div><div>Pricer:</div><ul><li>Process and price all sorted merchandise.</li><li>Deliver a minimum of 225 priced garments per hour.</li><li>Ensure that quality, name brand, condition, etc., are considered to determine price of garment.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Bric a Brac:</div><ul><li>Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.</li><li>Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.</li><li>Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.</li><li>Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Shoes/Accessories:</div><ul><li>Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily.</li><li>Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.</li><li>Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.</li><li>Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Domestics:</div><ul><li>Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required</li><li>Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item.</li><li>Process to the store a minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour maintaining all merchandise in the required order and manner.</li><li>Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Books/Records/Toys:</div><ul><li>Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily as required.</li><li>Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item in accordance with established policies.</li><li>Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.</li><li>Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial Rag Out Calendar.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Furniture/Electrical:</div><ul><li>Sort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required.</li><li>Ticket all electrical merchandise using “sold as is” tickets and assign an individual fair market price for each item.</li><li>Complete furniture tickets and record required information assigning a fair market price for each furniture item.</li><li>Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.</li><li>Mark down furniture items on sales floor in accordance with policy.</li></ul><div> </div><div>Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial ARC Rag Out Calendar. </div><div>Qualifications: Have a working knowledge of clothing quality and price.</div> About The Salvation Army Portland ARC:For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has operated rehabilitation facilities across the country that provide help and hope to individuals with a variety of problems, including issues relating to substance abuse.
