Position Summary:
The Sorter is responsible for sorting recycled materials as they move along the conveyor belt at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF), inspecting items, and placing them in designated areas according to commodity, size, condition, and/or grade.    Hiring Range: $16.00 $17.50 per hour based on experience

Education, Experience & Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment, and the ability to perform the physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including, standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying and climbing). The candidate must be legally eligible to work in the US and complete pre-employment testing.   Good verbal communication skills, the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, a focus on safety, and the ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials are required. The ability to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals and safety training is vital.

Classification: Non-exemptThe Counter-Sorter handles, counts, sorts and records incoming soiled textiles from the customer. You will identify damaged or abused textiles and prepare and transfer textiles to other departments. You will report to the Production Manager.You Will:<ul><li style="text-align:justify">Open bag of soiled textiles, then sort them by type, size and color.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Count textiles manually or electronically and transfer them into sorting systems.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Identify damaged or abused textiles and record into sorting systems.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Comply with Spindle Job Classification efficiency and safety standards for the position.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Follow policy and procedures related to wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li><li style="text-align:justify">Will function in a team environment.</li></ul>What You Bring:<ul><li style="text-align:justify">Support production flow.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Flexibility to perform different tasks within the team based on daily operational needs.</li></ul>Work Environment and Requirements:<ul><li style="text-align:justify">You will perform physical tasks throughout the work shift. The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for assisting in the receiving of freight, breakdown of pallets, scanning, and sortation of boxes by driver routes, loading of vehicles, and helping to direct traffic in the facility.
