We are family owned with locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico, but pride ourselves on maintaining a small-company feel.Lab Technician Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li style="line-height:125%">Will train under present lab technician for eventual assignment to a lab technician</li><li style="line-height:125%">Develop and optimize laboratory methodologies for testing petroleum products</li><li style="line-height:125%">Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues</li><li style="line-height:125%">Document experimental procedures, results and analytical data in compliance with quality management standards</li><li style="line-height:125%">Provide special, non-routine analytical support for research, process, and operations </li><li style="line-height:125%">Assist in maintaining an internal audit program for testing procedures, calibrations, calibration verifications and results reporting</li><li style="line-height:125%">Assist in maintaining calibration and maintenance documents for instrumentation</li><li style="line-height:125%">Generate laboratory data reports as necessary for product quality and regulatory compliance</li><li style="line-height:125%">Ensure laboratory safety protocols are adhered to and promote a culture of safety within the team</li><li style="line-height:125%">Respond in off-hours if needed to assist with critical equipment and testing</li><li style="line-height:125%">Perform physical and analytical test, as required</li><li style="line-height:125%">Produce sample batches for testing, 1-20 gallons</li><li style="line-height:125%">Prepare product sample requests </li><li style="line-height:125%">Fill sample batches for shipping</li><li style="line-height:125%">Obtain samples of raw materials from plant for lab use</li><li style="line-height:125%">Keep the working area clean</li><li style="line-height:125%">Handling hazardous material as required</li><li style="line-height:125%">Quality Control - perform general quality control functions and testing</li><li style="line-height:125%">Any other duties assigned by Lab Technician and Facility Manager</li></ul>Lab Technician Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">High school diploma (or GED) and/or laboratory experience</li><li style="line-height:normal">Good Math Skills</li><li style="line-height:normal">Able to lift and handle up to 50 lbs.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Able to accurately work with various instruments of measurement</li><li style="line-height:normal">Able to learn sampling and test methods</li><li style="line-height:normal">Able to learn computer skills</li><li style="line-height:normal">Able to read and follow written instructions and work well with others</li><li style="line-height:normal">Ableto work without direct supervision, good communication skills</li></ul>Ergon is an EEO/AAP Employer.Apply online, No Walk-ins or Phone Calls will be accepted.
