Position SummarySeasonal Recreation Aides assist with the planning, setup, and facilitation of recreational programs, special events, camps, fitness activities, and general community programming. This role helps ensure our facilities, equipment, and events run smoothly and safely, while providing excellent service to residents and visitors. Seasonal positions may include daytime. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts depending on program and event needs. Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation: If assigned, employees in thisclassification will be required to report and carry out duties as directed for the duration of anemergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around theclock for several days on short notice. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES<ul><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Assists in the planning, development, and execution of recreational programs, events, and activities, such as sports, leagues, programs, fitness classes, arts and crafts, and special events.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, providing information, and assist with program registrations.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Set up and maintain recreational facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for participants.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Supervise and monitor program participants to ensure their safety and compliance with department policies and guidelines.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Assist in organizing and promoting recreational events through marketing materials, social media, and community outreach.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking and program evaluations.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Collaborate with other department staff and volunteers to coordinate and support various activities.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Handle emergency situations and administer basic first aid as needed, following department protocols.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Maintain a clean and organized program area and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Attend training and staff meetings to stay updated on department policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Prepares activities for before and after school care or day camp.</li></ul> <ul><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Assists with creating promotional flyers as assigned.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Ensures needed supplies are stocked for scheduled activities.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Assists with facility cleanliness and informs Manager of any facility maintenance issues.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Develops and maintains good working relationships with the general public, coworkers, and the program participants.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Attends all assigned meetings and events</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Performs emergency response tasks and assignments as directed.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal">Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul> (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. A DAY IN THE LIFE:
At ARCO, an Intern has the opportunity to assist Project Managers with the following:<ul><li>Estimating – Describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to the projects</li><li>Scheduling – Creating a working timeline for subcontractors/trades in order to complete the project on time</li><li>Design meetings – Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand design pro structural engineers, architects</li><li>Buyout – Send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors. Receive and evaluate proposals, then award the subcontracts</li><li>Permitting– Fill out permit forms, submit forms with drawings and fees, then send to city/county/fire and wait for approval</li><li>Shop Drawing and Submittal Review – Receive shop drawing or submittal from subcontractor, give to PM, communicate to subcontractor that they can begin ordering material and working</li><li>Billing – Subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications</li><li>Job Site Visits – Visit job site with PM, make sure project is running smoothly</li></ul>

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
