Position Type: Specialized Schools /Programs/Summer School Date Posted: 4/2/2026 Location: Capital Administrative Office Date Available: 6/29/26 Closing Date: Until Filled District: Capital School District 2026 Summer Program 21st Century Community Learning Program Teacher Positions (Multiple Locations) Date Posted: March 31st, 2026 Locations: <ul><li>Dover High School </li><li>Middle School of Innovation (SOI and SOE Combined) </li><li>North Dover Elementary (North Dover & Hartly Combined) </li><li>South Dover Elementary (South Dover & Central Elementary Combined) </li></ul>Date of Availability: June 29th, 2026 Positions Available<ul><li>Dover High School - 6 positions </li><li>Middle School of Innovation - 6 positions </li><li>Middle School of Excellence - 6 positions </li><li>North Dover Elementary - 6 positions </li><li>South Dover Elementary - 6 positions </li><li>Central Elementary - 6 positions </li><li>Hartly Elementary - 6 positions </li></ul>Position: 21st Century Summer Program Teacher (Temporary - Grant Funded Position) Reports to: Building Principal/Site Coordinator Program Dates & Schedule:<ul><li>Professional Learning (Required):<ul><li>June 29, 2026 (5 ¾ hours): </li></ul></li><li>Student Program Dates (19 Days): June 30; July 1, 2 July 6, 7, 8, 9 July 13, 14, 15, 16 July 20, 21, 22, 23 July 27, 28, 29, 30 </li><li>Schedule: Monday-Thursday program schedule (5 ¾ hours per day - includes up to 1 hour planning/week) </li><li>High School: Staff 7:15 AM - 1:10 PM | Students 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM </li><li>Middle School: Staff 9:15 AM - 3:10 PM | Students 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM </li><li>Elementary School: Staff 8:15 AM - 2:10 PM | Students 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM </li></ul>Salary:<ul><li>$27.18/hour for professional learning and training </li><li>$39.76/hour during program hours </li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Program Implementation & Student Engagement<ul><li>Plan and facilitate summer sessions that build student connectedness to school and reinforce academic strategies for success. </li><li>Plan and manage entry procedures, transitions, and exit procedures </li><li>Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL), leadership skills, and positive behavioral supports into programming. </li><li>Support program development to increase student participation, positive group interactions, and overall academic success. </li></ul>Student Support & Leadership Development<ul><li>Support students in study skills, goal setting, and academic success strategies </li><li>Reinforce school expectations and positive decision-making </li><li>Develop student leadership, responsibility, and interpersonal skills </li></ul>Community Engagement & Family Partnerships<ul><li>Support family engagement and communication as applicable to the summer program </li><li>Assist with program events, enrichment activities, and field experiences </li></ul>Data, Safety, and Compliance<ul><li>Collect and report required program data (attendance, behavior, participation) </li><li>Supervise students to ensure safety during all program components </li><li>Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and preparedness </li></ul>Professional Learning & Summer Programming<ul><li>Participate in required professional learning and planning sessions </li><li>Collaborate with site coordinators and staff to ensure program consistency </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by Site Coordinator, Principal, or District Leadership </li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Delaware teaching certification (Bachelor's degree or higher). </li><li>Experience with 21st Century Programming, summer school, or community learning initiatives. </li><li>Experience tutoring or working with appropriate grade level (HS, MS, ES) </li><li>Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and foster inclusive, engaging learning environments. </li></ul>Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
