The Day Camp Counselor supports the planning and delivery of fun, faith‑based youth programs while prioritizing the safety and well‑being of every child. The role follows all center policies and works under the direction of the Ministry Assistant and/or Corps Officer.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Deliver service to clients</li><li>Follow all Child Safety policies and procedures</li><li>Engage with children sensitively with positive discipline</li><li>Maintain supervision</li><li>Support check-in and sign-out processes</li><li>Stay informed on daily plans to guide children effectively</li><li>Share feedback and ideas for improving programs</li><li>Collaborate with assistants to supervise and engage campers</li><li>Keep work and play areas clean and orderly</li><li>Ensure facility security and report concerns</li><li>Attend staff meetings</li><li>Maintain confidentiality at all times</li><li>Other related duties as required</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<ul><li>18 years of age (required)</li><li>Drivers license (required)</li><li>First Aid and CPR certification (within 90 days of hire - required)</li><li>Experience working with children (1 year preferred)</li></ul>SKILLS AND ABILITIES<ul><li>Ability to manage challenging child behaviors</li><li>Ability to relate positively and energetically with others</li><li>Ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude</li><li>Work independently with minimal supervision</li><li>Team-oriented and cooperative</li><li>Remain calm in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Communicate with empathy, especially with vulnerable populations</li></ul>EQUIPMENT USED<ul><li>Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software</li><li>Janitorial and maintenance equipment</li><li>Playground and recreational equipment</li><li>Sports gear and supplies</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.</li><li>Capable of visual and auditory supervision</li></ul>ADA Statement
